Tatsumi is strange in this. I expected him OOC but considering the summary he doesn't make sense. Following the ideals of the empire, but even joining Night Raid temporarily don't make sense. Reforming it from the inside means you are planning to work within the system. I really do enjoy your work but I feel that I had to point that out. Another thing though, with Zank the beheader, considering Canon I find him much more villified than he should be. A man driven insane by guilt, who thought he could find solace only in killing is more pitiable than villainous. Here though he found another who heard the voices, yet he only mocks him? He doesn't try to find the answers he's been looking for?
Lastly, what's up with showing Esdeath to a person who hasn't met her using Zank's teigu? I can get shipping people, but that isn't just a stretch. Looking into a person's memories to find who is most important to them doesn't usually include people who haven't met them yet. Sorry if I'm being really critical, like I've said I like your story, it's just that I feel like I have to point out things that don't really make sense in context. I can't remember who said it, but "You can make people believe in the impossible, just not the improbable".

Just have to point out, that technically the revolution was a civil war. A ranking of colonel should have him know that. Night Raid was literally just the black ops branch of the revolutionary army. The ones who would have to get their hands dirtier than a revolutionary force can.

Sorry if the review seems weird and random. You don't know much about fighting with dual weapons do you? A two handed sword could have more lethality, more often than not it does. Having a shield can give you more flexibility in how you attack. A dual weapon style while deadly isn't the most practical. My country's martial art is most well known as a dual weapon style when used as a sport, in it's traditional style it's single weapon which is way more practical. To be proficient enough to use two weapons at the same time takes decades of training and it has so many disadvantages as well as advantages. Using two sabers at the same time, is just plain idiocy you have a much higher chance of injuring yourself using two swords of that length at the same time. Sorry it just peeved me how it was described in your story.

Other than that though I find the story promising. It has a good premise, although having Tatsumi ride along with Night Raid is weird. Considering he's already a soldier. Aside from the contradiction to his loyalties, bringing anyone loyal to the empire knowingly to their base is idiotic on Night Raid's part. In the original Leone recruited a civilian that was talented in weapon use, A soldier of the enemy is an entirely different story. Regardless of how honorable a person is unless they deserted they are enemy soldiers in a war, if Night Raid acted for every sympathetic skilled warrior they would be destroyed.

thought ofr this chap ? maybe im wondering if tatsumi a bit darker in this story and about his power level,i wanna know what make him this strong.

Wow,first of all im sorry i cant review the till the first 3 chapter ( no internet At the time ).
im not that good at giving critics so i just wanna say for the first 3 chapter,i love ur writing style,and from what i see ur so good at story telling,u have vast knowledge for words,maybe if i want to complain till this chapter its cause the pacing a bit slow for me IMO,maybe thats all.
Overall its reallyreally ENJOYABLE.
still looking forward for Esdeath come up,cause im one of die hard fans of her ship with tatsumi.
