koseta.a chapter 1 . 11/28/2017
I'm not even a thousand words in and I've got a headache, lots of typos, missing words, words in the wrong spot and he basically used 3 paragraphs to say the system is curupt... Can't continue
Visavii chapter 41 . 11/21/2017
it was good at first but it feels like your really stretching the battle here. every linr a character says theres 3 paragraph of how he justifies that though. i dont know if you lost ideas or your just recycling the let go part. for my part the build up of letting tatsumi go of his inner demon wasn't worth it. like yeah he did let go but he got pub stomped the next minute then he goes berserk which had no build up idk maybe next time dont let it build up to long i guess it feels like your just stretching the story and it gets to the point where i just akip some dialog just to reach a point of the battle

Bored321 chapter 48 . 9/22/2017
New chapter already? What speed!

So decay inducement and regeneration? Wow, these guys won the Teigu lottery!

A monstrous noble who possess a brass set? How rare, but intriguing…

Is it really so unlike Tatsumi to be ordering them to cut their way through? It’s a hostile force and their trying to kill their soldiers. It’s a vs for Them situation, and I can’t see him being willing to throw his legion’s life’s away to try and protect some false innocence.

So is this lynch mob primarily composed of the male gender?

So who’s the brother of this dude? The right-hand guy? He’s only realizing what the Revolution’s become just now? Isn’t that a little sudden? Having him come to the realization instantly seems like a quick and efficient way to have him join up with Tatsumi’s Legion.

More than one event…? Well, now my interest is piqued! Be the most hilarious thing imaginable if Honest worked Tatsumi’s entire spectacle to his advantage and then sincerely thanked him for giving him this opportunity.

Surprised at Mez surviving, but I find it to be a welcome change. Why brawl pointlessly when one’s willing to talk terms? Still, I doubt she’ll last that long if she continues to show up on a semi-regular basis – she’s doesn’t fit the mold in-regards to Tatsumi’s crew.

Why would it be wrong to try and make a difference when it’s so sorely needed? The means that they're going at it were inept and stupid, but Tatsumi seems to have finally realized that and taken steps correct it. If you’re looking for insanity, its in-line with hoping thing’s change but refusing do anything about to garner such change.

If you’re not going to stand up for what’s right, how can expect other people to?

Out of curiosity, how would rendering NR/RA no better than the Empire work in canon? People would be disgusted with both sides, as it’d be two vicious monsters against one another. Regardless of who won in the end, everyone else would lose.

Now what exactly stops insanity from succeeding at its intended goal? Extremely unlikely, but still within the infinite realms of possibly. So, taking into account possible outcomes, I’d say no – It’s not cruel to see insanity trying to succeeded. After all, this might be the millionth time where it actually succeeds.

I really liked this chapter. The fights were self-contained and perfectly prompt, even the vilest of creatures maintained their dignity in defeat, Tatsumi’s got called for his idiocy, it made Honest look genuinely dangerous, and the Revolution’s fall is wonderfully highlighted. A wonderful edition to the story.

Awesome chapter.
I agree with on failure part. Night Raid is black ops group. One area they failed to address is that Night Raid does do corruption in taking people money. I think over hundred 200 gold at least each request. People are not rich to pay them, but forced get money one way or another. They never do it for free and only time they do it for free, if Revolutionary army gives order.
Sleepwalker 5462 chapter 48 . 9/22/2017
This chapter is awesome.
Bored321 chapter 47 . 9/20/2017
It having her jaw break too much for her? Unless she’s severely overestimating her pain tolerance, then that should be nothing to her.

Esdeath can inflict pain much worse than having a person’s jaw splinter would provide.

Already done fighting? How quaint! While I felt the sadomasochist was too strong based on her portrayal, the length of the fight was very nice.

Pleased to see Night Raid /RA take a decisive blow. The confrontations felt too one-sided lately.

How much is a gold piece worth anyway? What can you buy with a single doubloon? Obviously, ten thousand minted coins is a *lot*, but how much comparably?

Not sure how to feel about the declining morality of the rebels. While I don’t find this particular instance especially damning, it’s clear that their proposed alternative is just going to lead to more of the same.

No apology for taking so long? How refreshing! Constantly tuning to an A/N and seeing a depressing strings of apologies serves to jade me of them. Is a person genuinely remorseful at not being able to provide readers with faster updates, or do they just feel obligated to apologize? It seems every time they apologize for their progress, it serves to help nothing and only acts as a warning that motivation/time/etc is continuously declining.

Is lack of time or motivation really so bad? It’d be preferable if a person could update every month or so, but very few possess such ability. While I’d advise working at your own pace, I believe the stories’ pacing itself could use some refinement.

These last seven chapters (and what I’d guess to be around seventy thousand words) have been building up to Tatsumi’s master plan, and the majority of it can summed up thusly: Citizens alike, but most especially, disenfranchised orphans suffer beneath the yoke of the Empire, the Revolutionary Army has all but become the very thing it claims to overcome, Seryu and Wave are finally starting to shade their own naivety, Tatsumi’s lost his adherence on his moral high ground and has begun slipping down the most slippery of slopes, and one masochistic loon bites off more than they can chew.

With all the foreshadowing, all the implicit details at what is Tatsumi’s planning, how can the payoff be worth the hype? Personally, I don’t believe it can be. Arc Fatigue is very much a thing here, and the pacing suffers under its effects.

It’s not at all helped that I’m starting to lose interest in the characters. We’ve got the tyrannical Empire, the “ends justify the means” Revolutionaries, and the droning, morally-declining Tatsumi. It’s a three way between two factions subscribing to the blackest and most vile forms of morality, and a contender that’s trying to usurp the system but is grinded away by the process of it. Mind you, I like the fact that cliché good-guy Tatsumi is being torn at the seams, but he lacks the fire, charisma and just plain results that makes me want to root for him.

What happened to the rest of the Jaegers? Bols was probably the best character in this story, and Ran and Stylish (though he could do to dial back the puns) were interesting and stood out by themselves.

Oh, and is Esdeath/Tatsumi a legit pairing? Because so far it’s been terrible. Esdeath’s a total bitch, barely tolerates or offers sympathy for Tatsumi’s plights, and the majority of their interactions involve Tatsumi trying to skirt around pissing Esdeath off to point where she’ll torture him half-to-death. I’m starting to find the relationship they held in canon preferable compared to as it is here, and that was when it was completely one-sided. Quite frankly, their relationship is massively toxic, power imbalanced and abusive.

What does the Emperor even do? The extent of the insanity that’s going on should at-least got him to raise an eyebrow as to where his populace is disappearing to. Seems so much easier just to off him and rule up-front and center anyway. For all extends and purposes, that’s exactly what Honest is doing.

Perhaps tone down the spotlight the depravities of the Empire is taking? It’s already been shown they’ve have a hand in pretty much every travesty imaginable, so is further exploration on “the very worst and wickedest evils are acted out within the Empire on a regular basis” necessary? At this point, it’s been made so abundantly clear that it’s reduced the shock value to near-nothing since an Empire which engages in such duplicit activities for the sheer sake of it is totally normal and regular behavior.

While I wouldn’t disagree that the manga storyline and ending were too caught in clichés and whatnot, painting Night Raid as decent, if murderous, people worked for the benefit of the story. If they were portrayed as being Extremists willing to do *anything* to ensure that the Empire is brought down, why should people root for them when they prove themselves no better than the evil they claim to oppose?

I’m all for realism, but it becomes murky when it starts to effect the story.

Alright, I think that sums up how I felt about the story so far. Until then.
