witchofdathomir chapter 47 . 9/18/2017
the story kinda went downhill since that assassination arc. After all the flags that Tatsumi triggered like Esdeath's parents, people would think that Tatsumi would be able to change Esdeath. You then do a 180 degree and have Tatsumi driven insane by Esdeath.
Well, I love your first 500k words. The latest arc? not so much.

I've changed my mind. Your story is the best.
witchofdathomir chapter 7 . 9/16/2017
hmm I thought the other fic was the best. But yours is probably its equal.
witchofdathomir chapter 2 . 9/16/2017
pretty nice start you got there. My interest is piqued.

Didn’t Tatsumi give no damns about gender straight from the start? You’d think such hormonal idiots would incite a civil war between those who’d take issue with such behavior.
Bored321 chapter 45 . 9/14/2017
The pacing really needs work. Half a chapter about trying to bringing in some allies to help pull off his public spectacle.

He’s not even a day-in yet? Too much hype, not enough substance.
Bored321 chapter 44 . 9/14/2017
Seryu’s recovered nicely. Don’t imagine Tattsumi’s force’s opinions are high on her given her previous display, though.

First it’s a crippled girl, now it’s a bitter woman? I was imagining the fem!Tiny Tim there , so having it turn out that it’s an adult he’s talking to is quite the transition to adjust to.

Already contemplating visiting Mine? Please yes. Just make sure to bring Esdeath.

Not sure how I feel about turning the Revolution into the Empire’s evil twin. Before now that was there some ambiguity behind Tatsumi’s actions, now it’s just a case of the Empire and Revolution being on the same ground. He who fights the monsters indeed!

Mixed feelings on this chapter. To be frank, I find the overabundance of OCs to be holding the story back. With canon characters, a person knows who they are and what it they look like, but with with an OC a person has to either draw their own perceptions or constantly keep in-mind all the OC's features.

As if, I find it hard to care about a character's kid who was created, personalized and function as a means to break Tatsumi down some more. Why should I care about him? His introductory scene shows him acting like an ass, he's got a wife who's pregnant, and has three nameless siblings/kids.

Doesn't it feel really awkward to constantly have Tatsumi

First impressions served to turn me off his character immediately, and the latter two reasons felt like a lazy attempt of at trying to drum up sympathy. "Look guys! Dis dude's just lost his father, has to raise his three young siblings, and got another one on the way!"

He won back some points when he took Tatsumi calling him a pathetic coward the way a normal person would, but he was still in the red by the end.

So hormonal! Can't these guys keep it in their pants? It seems lazy to me that in order to show off how utterly irredeemable these faceless mooks are, they try and force themselves upon them another. Is stepping on a person's throat somehow better than the act of raping them?

Was an entire chapter needed to allow this dude to grow a pair and help in Tatsumi's mass execution/gladiator games kill-em-all event? Will he just do his part, then fade into the background? If so, what was the point? All that word count ends up used for nothing. Build-up to the eventual conflict is great and all, but literally the entire story has been building up Tatsumi losing himself more and more.

Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. Its a great message, but having Tatsumi constantly bring it up while shoving it down a person's throat is starting to wear thin...

A nationalist or a patriot ? Why such limited choices? He's well-defined enough to point where he can't be summed up with one little label. If I had to choose between the two, I'd say Nationlist. Simply because he doesn't the definition of a patriot (a person who vigorously supports their country). At this point, corruption more the norm than not. So by willing trying to purge the rot that's overtaken his country, he's effectively trying to overthrow the country itself.

As is, The Empire stands for decadence, debauchery, and greed. Its more corrupted and infested than not, so much so that reforming it involves executing the majority of the governors, law-enforcement, and nobles.

Honestly, I'd like the idea of Esdeath and Tatsumi hooking up. She a great personality (yes really), and she serves to balance out Tatsumi's endless idealism. But after this crap, I'm losing interest in her as a character. Her blood knight traits and social dwarfism have been exaggerated to the point of overbearing her nicer traits.

While I'd be excited to see Tatsumi deciding its time to cut lose, he's made this same declaration before. Again, and again, and again.

On a final note, I wouldn't use the phase "Don't like, don't read". Not only does it sound childish and immature, it makes a person come off as unable to handle criticism. Granted, the times you used it, you implied it was because some persons were hurling insults at your story and possibly yourself. Of course, what one person interrupt's as insult could've been meant as criticism...
Bored321 chapter 40 . 9/11/2017
The easiest way to tell when a character's going to make a dramatic entrance is how desperate the "heroes’" situation is! Who ever heard of a character popping in when it’s just down to characters slugging out with no real tension?

To be fair, that elicited a reaction from me. At first I was disgusted at Wave for being taken out like a scrub (he really needs to rid himself of that habit, its frustratingly predictable), then it switched over to Tatsumi for failing again, and finally it revolved to Esdeath for engineering this entire situation in the first place.

But then, I highly doubt Esdeath would actually let the situation go down like in the first place so there's really no point in assigning blame.

Save for the culprits themselves, of course. Funny how the change of perspective can serve to make a person despise the main characters themselves. Like, who cares about Chelsea getting hers? What did she even do? Kill a random OC-plot-device whose purpose for existence was motivating Tatsumi to grow up? Drag out a fight with Tatsumi while managing to escape (rendering the lengthy word count rather pointless)? She even got a sympathetic moment when she felt bad about going to kill Wave.

But these two? Screw that, have Esdeath and Tatsumi torture Lion-o to death. It'd go for weeks and weeks, her miraculous recovery serving to draw out her suffering for an eternity.

The perfect way of courting one’s sweetheart!
Bored321 chapter 39 . 9/11/2017
While drilling lion-o into the ground was cool at the time, its rendered mute when she turns out fine. Given how a fall at that velocity to have broken her neck in several places, its a wonder they don't take the hint and make to tear her head from her shoulders. Lion-o was never that great of a fighter to begin with.

As for the fight itself, its really starting to drag its feet. Tatsumi started out being able to kill flippin' Akame like it was nothing – even if he managed to get under her skin, it couldn't been that bad seeing as Najenda didn't tell her to cut the crap and retain her focus – but at one point he spends literally half a chapter bemoaning his weakness and trying to bring out more latent power.

Character's development great and all (especially since Tatsumi sorely needs some), but it didn't have to come at the expense of a fight that's been build for dozens of chapters.

Bold text, like italics, should be used sparingly. Take capitals letters as an example: While at times it can work to indicate that a person's screaming out something important, THE INTENDED EFFECT IS LOST WHEN ITS REPEATEDLY USED.

Tatsumi constantly uses bold lining ruins the effects its supposed to have. The visual reminder that it sounds like he's garbling dirt when in his super form isn't required, as its made very, very clear that he's still in his hyper form.
Bored321 chapter 37 . 9/10/2017
Should've mentioned that she had a thing for suckers. Poor communication kills.
Bored321 chapter 36 . 9/10/2017
Tatsumi should learn to never make promises. Not just ones you can't keep, but any promise at all.

Wave gets sent flying again? These moments really serve to make him look pathetic. Funny though how the deck is stacked in Nightraid's favor this time around.
Bored321 chapter 35 . 9/10/2017
Wave coming in and waving that death flag like nobody's business. Still, its better than the family man. Now that's just asking to die.
