Interesting story so far. Is the stargate crossover because the means of the symbiote entering him is similar to jaffa, or will there actually be a meeting with the stargate universe. I'm pretty sure the symbiote isn't part of the goa'uld species as it sounds too different. For one, a goa'uld can't make the host grow gills. I'm kinda looking forward to what other things the symbiote would do/change.

Well, this is certainly something new. I'm a bit confused over the symbiotes though, they don't seem to act anything like Goa'uld or like Tok'ra. Another branch of that species? Or has the proximity to magic mellowed them out maybe?

Either way, eagerly looking forward to reading what ramifications this will have.
