![]() ![]() ![]() I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't, at least half the time the first letters of people's names aren't being capitalized in the story. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Harry had planned to try and learn the patronus charm, but he hasn't brought it up yet, hasn't seemed to be working on it either on his own. Is this like him going to see the healer, it's mentioned and just doesn't happen? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm a little confused. Why would Harry offer his hand to Flitwick, regardless of whether he accepts it or not, when it was Harry that was on the ground? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Still enjoying this story. Wanted to point out that you mentioned Harry had an assignment from professor Binns, but didn't mention him ever going to the class. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's been several days since he got to the Alley, since he is already picked up the potion he ordered which would take 3 days. Yet, he's STILL hasn't seen a healer like he had originally planned to. Is he just not going to now? Also, is Charlus's portrait the only one he is going to talk to? I'm guessing there might be other portraits of his older family but he just hasn't talked to them and maybe he won't? Did his parents ever have any made? What about his grandmother or his aunts or uncle? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Why would Theo even offer to show her Harry around when they're not going to be able to do it before school gets back in session? It seems dumb. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You said searching out family information was the last of his tasks, but while he did go to the apothecary to order a potion he never went to a Healer like he had planned to. |
![]() ![]() ![]() wow, cool! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Good story. Interesting to see one where Harry stays away from Dumbledore, and avoids getting caught up in his plots. DD not trying to force Harry to stay with the Dursley's is different, maybe out of sight worked well? Nicely done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Actually, it doesn't need improvement at all. I found it plenty suspenseful, and the action was really just right. Sometimes, less is more, if you know what I mean. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think you're thinking of Lilfred of Stinchcombe, the "founding sire," so to speak, of the Potter line. He was called "the potterer" by his neighbors/clients, because he could frequently be seen "pottering about" his garden. You're not the only one who's made the connection between him and the "hopping pot;" I've run into a fair number of other writers who have mentioned it in their notes. (He was also the inventor of a potion that eventually became known as Skele-Gro. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Don't know what the guest reviewer had in mind, but the first thing that pops into my head when I read turkey, marshmallows, and flames in juxtaposition with each other, is roasting. You can roast turkey over flames, and I'm sure you've at least heard of toasting/roasting marshmallows over a campfire or a fireplace. Not going to bother hunting for the particular guest review, though. The second thing I thought of isn't nearly as innocuous. ;D |
![]() ![]() ![]() Draco was out of control in canon, too; more Gryffindor than Slytherin..."Slytherdor"? "Slythindor"? "Gryfferin"? ;D |
![]() ![]() ![]() Fantastic story. I really loved it and I love your writing style. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really enjoyed this story. I love the new friends, wish Harry hadn't been cold to his first friends, but I understand that friendships don't always last. But everything else? Perfect |
