RAGAnne chapter 36 . 11/20/2015 Yay for the update! I'm kind of amused that Dawn is realizing how complicated changing things is actually going to be and yet she still thinks getting rid of Glory should be no big deal. Once Glory's gone she'll (hopefully) be as in the dark as everyone else so she may want to figure out the other important things first. And there's still the issue of the time-echoes or whatever they are that seem like they could be pretty important. Good luck Dawn! |
JayeMaru chapter 36 . 11/20/2015 A lot of insights here; a lot to think about. Good to see Dawn's observation that the Scoobies forgot their fundamental values somewhere along the way. That even Buffy was treating Spike badly as a reflection of her view of him rather than as an example of who she wanted to be. And most deeply to me, that the monks' spell softened their relation to Spike at the same time it would've made Buffy mistrust her memories and the evidence of his change. Very interesting. |
Guest chapter 35 . 11/17/2015 I enjoy this story so much! Things are moving along, but the interactions are subtle. I'm wondering now if Buffy thinks Spike has developed a thing for her sister. |
Ferris Ulf chapter 35 . 11/16/2015 Yay another chappie! I did like the re-telling of this episode; the way Spike tells it and the way Buffy reacts. Very well done. I think the deepest point of the chapter for me personally was when Buffy was wondering WHY Spike had changed so much and what his motives are; specifically involving the magic from the monks. It hadn't occurred to me that that could be another reason (or excuse-ah buffy, such avoidance!) for her to wonder about why he's doing what he's doing. |
Hyais chapter 35 . 11/16/2015 It's slow paced for now but still enjoyable to see the dynamics between spike, dawn and buffy grow |
JayeMaru chapter 35 . 11/16/2015 Oh my, I love the differences in the main scene when it's an un-broken and self-aware Spike. And Buffy's self-talk (and untrusting self-censureship) is in keeping with her character in this story, though we get to see that she's more accepting. Less cruel in her reactions. Nicely done. |
Keira-House M.D chapter 35 . 11/16/2015 Great chapter. Brilliant interaction between Spike and Buffy, especially in how we get to see the differences in the feel of their conversation compared to canon. Looking forward to more. |
JayeMaru chapter 34 . 11/16/2015 I like when chapters like this are interspersed with more action-filled ones. It gives us a chance to examine some of the thoughts and interactions between the characters. Dawn's and Buffy's observations about Giles are insighful, prefiguring the mistrustful man he became. At the same time, it's neat to see their feelings toward Tara as a separate person. And also, I like the hint that people's flashes to the other timeline's events may actually be temporal collisions. Oooohhhh. |
RAGAnne chapter 35 . 11/15/2015 Well this version of Spike, and really both of them, certainly handled that tete-a-tete better. Poor Buffy still isn't trusting the situation much but I can hardly hold it against her. Great job and good luck with the move. |
Keira-House M.D chapter 34 . 11/14/2015 I love this story. The ways Dawn tries to change things and how it turns out is interesting, especially the different ways the relationships develop and the twist with future Dawn becoming current Dawn and being Buffy's twin. I love the dynamics and relationships between Dawn, Spike and Buffy. Looking forward to more. |
Ferris Ulf chapter 34 . 11/8/2015 Too lazy to sign in again. _ While, as you said, it wasn't an action-packed chapter, I very much liked it. It definitely studied several characters in ways that weren't really brought to much light in the show. A very important one being Giles' shift in how he views Dawn. (Sadness!) It will be interesting to see if Dawn can change that. Loved the way they got Tara's family out. It was also cleverly pointed out that Spike (being a half-demon, as the show says) should not have been fully invisible really. A growling, game-faced vamp was the perfect substitute to a punch in the nose as a means of solving the family drama. Bravo for that. THANK YOU for making Buffy be more speculative about Tara, Spike, and Riley. There wasn't enough of that (especially for Tara) in the show. I am hoping to see Spike become integrated in the gang more. It really was a shame in the original storyline that the characters (who we love dearly) never really accepted him into the group. Things really COULD have gone a lot differently if they'd acknowledged when he changed at any given time. Look forward to the next update, as always. |
RAGAnne chapter 34 . 11/7/2015 Ooh, so Dawn may be getting hints of the weirdness Spike and Buffy are experiencing after all. Great job getting resolution to the Tara/demon storyline even without the chip. If you end up not being able to post next weekend, good luck with your move. |
Ferris chapter 33 . 11/6/2015 Haha! You know when Dawn was getting all worked up, I honestly forgot that Spike was going to go invisible. XD |
Guant chapter 33 . 11/6/2015 Dawn needs to include spike about how they defeated Glory in the original timeline, its bad judgment to withhold information from him (except the rape scene) that she definitely needs not telling. |
Guest chapter 33 . 11/6/2015 After reading the authors note at the beginning of this chapter, I wanted to let you know that your story is clearly well thought out and you have obviously spent a lot of time on the characters, the plot, and the relationships in it. It floors me that people review with nit-picking details. You fully justify your choices, but you could have just as easily said "cause I'm the author and I say so!" I am certain that most of your readers appreciate reading an excellent story about characters we love. You have a gift for writing. Keep up the fine work and keep those updates coming. Thank you! |
