RAGAnne chapter 30 . 9/27/2015 I'm really enjoying the character interactions in this story. This Buffy/Spike and Buffy/Dawn dynamic in this chapter was especially interesting as we watch the ripple effect of previous changes in the timeline. I look forward to Spike's reaction to the last part. |
Ferris Ulf chapter 30 . 9/27/2015 So was the final scene the remake of the dream scene or were they actually awake? |
Ferris Ulf chapter 29 . 9/16/2015 While I was never a Riley fan, I do think you are writing him right for this story, given that we are viewing him a lot through Dawn's eyes. And Dawn never actually hated him and was (begrudgingly) happy to see him when he made a brief reappearance with his wife. It wouldn't make sense if Dawn were all about just getting rid of him. Kudos to you on that. I haven't read all of your notes, so I don't know if he's a character you actually like or not-which is a compliment to you as a writer. Too many times in fanfictions the author makes it too transparent about characters they dislike and those they favor. So well done on that. While the memories thing shuffled stuff around, I'm glad (and saddened, because it is sad) to see that the Scoobies have that problem still of not showing Spike much respect. Love that he is besties with Dawn. It was a major disappointment for me in the show when in season 6 and onward they completely lost touch with each other as friends when it was clear they had bonded prior to that. I found their relationship fun and interesting and consider the writers veering away from that one of the flaws of the show. I found this story a few days ago and have been binging on it ever since. Sorry I did not leave a review per chapter, but I shall do so from now on as you update. This is a refreshing read and I am quite excited to see where you plan on taking things, especially now that we've entered the Butterfly Effect stage. |
Ferris Ulf chapter 26 . 9/16/2015 Oh I liked that she's the only Dawn. I was wondering how that was going to work with Big Dawn and Mini Dawn running around. An accidental collision between the two would have been fantastic, but this definitely is interesting. |
RAGAnne chapter 29 . 9/16/2015 I do not envy the tightrope Dawn must walk right now especially since she has no idea what sort of ripples may already be in play but she was absolutely a better person for Riley to talk to about his feelings on his relationship with Buffy than cheerleader Xander was. Thanks for continuing to fit this story into your busy life. It's always exciting to see a new chapter. |
Ferris Ulf chapter 9 . 9/15/2015 LOVED THIS CHAPTER...but when did Giles get there? |
Ferris Ulf chapter 8 . 9/15/2015 Haha! Wonderful! |
JayeMaru chapter 29 . 9/14/2015 I like how Dawn adjusts things by interacting with the characters now that she's part of the action. Her desire to separate Buffy from Riley in a less traumatic way is a nice testament to the caring nature that caused her to travel back in the first place. It's also insightful, because I'm sure the extended broken Riley relationship and rejection further damaged Buffy's ability to trust and love. And, we get to see Riley as a basically nice man; just the wrong man. Subtle. |
Glumski chapter 29 . 9/14/2015 Wow, this was nice. It gave Riley a lot of depth that I didn't even notice he needed! I kind of feel bad for him now... |
JayeMaru chapter 28 . 9/8/2015 It's fun being inside the episodes, in the characters' perspectives. It's also fun getting Buffy's, Spike's, and Dawn's internal monologues and observations during those moments. It's nice how a few words or turns of phrases are enough to put their voices in-character. |
RAGAnne chapter 28 . 9/8/2015 I was actually kind of afraid something might change in the timeline here since Dawn was so insistent that Spike needed to be present (and so she was as well). Can you imagine if Dawn had been hit with a blast? Thankfully it all seemed to work out fairly similarly though I can totally get why Spike would be feeling confused and uncomfortable since the monks did their "mojo." Great chapter. |
JayeMaru chapter 27 . 9/8/2015 I like the increased involvement of Dawn within the events. I didn't miss it in the first part but, now that the events originally included her it's nice to have her there. I really like Spike's reflections how false memories have softened Buffy's reactions to him. It's neat to have someone within the story be aware of the changes. I always thought the monks had changed Spike also, though in this story the time traveling Dawn laid the geoundwork and Spike has better awareness. |
RAGAnne chapter 27 . 8/23/2015 Of course being kidnapped by Harmony is part of the immutable past. The PTB have to get their laughs in somewhere. :) I'm really enjoying seeing how the older Dawn fits into the original timeline. I love that she got herself free from the cave. And Spike experiences another "memory" that doesn't really fit. . . dun dun DUN. |
Penn chapter 1 . 8/12/2015 Memory shadows strike again, i actually like it when the original timeline clashes with the new one. aww, but the only thing bugs me dawns new twin status i actually wanted a mini-dawn to reappear it would have been hilarious to watch her navigate/manipulate the timeline when no one takes her seriously |
potterinu chapter 26 . 8/10/2015 Was newmemory version of Dawn friends with any existing Buffy characters from their graduating class? Are there any major shifts in the dynamics of her relationships with any of the Scooby gang? Besides being older what are the differences between her now and the younger original version? For example has she ever tried to delve into magic or anything similar? |
