Reviews for Lone Traveler: The Slytherin Chronicles |

![]() ![]() ![]() Snape’s aversion to teaching is inexplicable, since he couldn’t be granted a Mastery under the Guild system without being willing to teach others and spread his craft - the other two requirements of Mastery being very high skill (proven by creation of a masterwork, in his case likely inventing a new potion) and at least one existing Master attesting that he is ready for a Mastery. If reports of his poor attitude and refusal to actually teach potion brewing got back to whatever regulatory authority oversees Masteries in the Wizarding World, he’d be stripped of his Potions Mastery on the spot. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks to Riddle pretty much enslaving almost every Slytherin between his time at Hogwarts and his final destruction, Slytherin House changed greatly from what it was meant to be. Thanks to Riddle, they truly became the house of duffers Hufflepuff is reputed to be - one and all followers rather than leaders. Slytherin House was founded to produce Lords and Ladies, not serfs - the sort of witches and wizards would would BE the Dark Lord or Lady, not the followers of one. Salazar Slytherin would take one look at the denizens of canon Slytherin House and reject the lot of them - they would end up in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff Houses, NEVER Slytherin, if Salazar’s sorting rules were still functioning. Good to see them being returned to their proper culture. |
![]() ![]() ![]() oh man I love Vernon in gringotts |
![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing work with this story! This universe really took one unexpected turn, and I loved it! Oh I wish we could get to see what will happen years if not decades down the line... Though I do wish that for all of your story, so... Still, thank you so much for sharing this with us! |
![]() ![]() Nice! Lunar Harmony is just the best! |
![]() ![]() Yeah, but which Slytherin goes to Slytherin? How cunning is it to advertise that you're cunning? It's much better to stay in the background and listen and learn. If your characterising trait is ambition, say, economic as in joining the family business, then it's okay, though. Canon Draco was sorted into Slytherin after the hat barely touched his had. And Draco was the worst Slytherin in the history of ever. How cunning is it to constantly jump into trouble with both feet and need help from the staff, especially but not only Snape, or from daddy and his coinpurse? How ambitious is it to let daddy buy everything - standing in the house, place on the quidditch team, getting out of trouble of his own stupid making? I mean, in the end he got away with everything. So it somehow worked. But everyone knew that it wasn't Draco who solved all his own problems. He cast all three Unforgivables, and all of them with a level of experience that spoke of practise, and lots of it. He didn't even lose a single house point while one of his victims was punished with weeks of detentions for daring to defend himself. And yet, he was at King's Cross in the Epilogue of Doom instead of a cell in the high security wing in Azkaban. But how he got out of punishment is easy to infer. The same way as his daddy did almost two decades earlier. "Imperius, Imperius! Oh, and here's a big sack o' gold." Daddy's coinpurse... |
![]() ![]() It's hard to believe that Grunnings can afford buying mined diamonds from the goblins. I looked it up in only a couple minutes, with more time the picture could be different (mainly quality-wise). But one seller of synthetic diamonds for tool edges like saws and drills wanted 0.12 USD/carat for a minimum amount of 100 carats. For bulk buyers the price went down up to 0.05 USD/carat. They're ugly and not suitable for jewellery. But for cutting edges? Who cares? They're diamonds, they're hard. That's what counts. Can a mining endeavour keep up with such prices? Especially as they're primarily a bank, their mining is just a bit auxiliary income. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I do like seeing what happens after Maarek Ilumian has done all he was required to do. Thank you for the story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hola, por aquí disfrutando de una buena historia con severus, Felicidades y gracias. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Loved it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Lucius' section made me think of him still feeling the urge to go hunt muggles, hurt them and make them bleed. Confessing this to his good friend Severus, Sev tells him about muggle serial killers and paedophiles. A systemic problem that no one will be particularly upset if he went out and did a little cleaning to help the urges. Lucius turned Dexter. Eventually he gets tired of easy it is and moves on to his old colleagues that have a less discriminating taste in their victims. Eventually Lucius becomes a boogeyman that eclipses Mad Eye in the fear he creates in the underworld. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story was fvcking perfect. You LITERALLY write the best HP fix-it fics, and I CANNOT, for the life of me, stop reading them. You, my dear friend, are an absolute legend! |
![]() ![]() ![]() A very enjoyable story. Great job. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Never expected Vernon to act like that but I could see it happening. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bummer that there was no mention of the turnout for when the magical world was revealed. Would have been interesting to see that development. |
