It makes sense actually, the Elves' souls are practically indestructible, been bound to Ëa, so you are stuck there forever, watching the world change. The Gift of Men meant escape from Ëa, which is probably what attracted Elros: the unknown fate of Men after death. It's another adventure for him.
Also, I doubt the Numenorean smelled. They are pretty much just Elves that die right?

Yes there are wolves in Aman. Tolkien said there that all the creatures that lived on Endorë lives in Aman, including the extinct ones, which raised the interesting question of whether if there are dinosaurs in Aman

Hey, I think Morgoth does have hay fever. That'd be hilarious wouldn't it?
And Fingolfin and Finarfin are just translations of their Qwenya names which are Ñolofinwë and Arafinwë respectively, which really isn't that creative. Finwë, like, named 3/5 kids after himself.
