God, I fucking hate your OC, I like everything else, but fuck this MC makes reading this an absolute pain.

She is useless and a coward, doesn't want to hurt people, but by her own inaction is just letting more people get hurt and pretends she is not doing anything wrong, trying to judge the world she's been living for the past decade with the morals of her long gone world is gonna get her killed by her inaction and she is still going to pretend she didn't do anything wrong.

I wish you had made a MC that wasn't so painful to read because the premise is great, actually fantastic.

I know it has been years but I still hope that you'll update again. I really like this story and how the social intricacies are portrayed and explained. It has always fascinated me and I always find it wonderfull when it is shown in such detail.

I'm glad I read your other stories after rereading my favorite parts of Sanitize while waiting for that to update. I don't even remember how I found that story but I'm glad I did because it led me to your other works. The characters in your stories are all well written and varied. As busy as life has been I really have to thank you for providing a distraction.

I enjoyed it while it lasted

I actually think Mizuki's last name is Touji. It's filler, but Tsunade calls him "ano Touji Mizuki" in that prison break arc.

Also her reconnecting with her father was needed, if she as a mind healer can’t recognize the coping mechanisms he had been using it would be shocking. She’s an adult and her bailing on him when he was clearly also struggling seemed a bit heartless. She knows her parents truly loved her and were sacrificing to provide for her so it was unsatisfying. Clearing the air a bit about the mental, emotional, and financial struggles they’re each going through (and have been trying to resolve) would have made for an interesting bonding moment especially since the MC wouldn’t reveal everything but still could reveal enough that was meaningful. Who knows maybe it already exists in a chapter draft or plot outline. Thanks for the story.

Story has improved a lot, even if she can’t control or affect everything she’s no longer as passive about the things that she can control or the things she should at least try to avert. Even if the ideas don’t work brainstorming some and trying the ones she thinks are the best mean that something could change. Continually spinning wheels and rejecting stuff when she doesn’t have perfect knowledge of all the actors would be frustrating and immediately flipping the switch to 100% munchkining also wouldn’t have felt in character. Her being a bit more assertive is exactly what’s needed, if you ever come back around to this that engagement with the world is what drives everything. She can’t be everywhere, won’t fix everything, and canon knowledge becomes increasingly suspect BUT if she doesn’t find things she is willing to put in the risk to change then there’s no point outside fleshing out a setting which would be more satisfying with a OC that wasn’t an insert.

More conversations with the two Utachi seem like the quickest way for her to make the right kind of waves. They’re both operating at a level that will let her cut through the shit and are smart enough to be able to make things happen if she can bait them into a favor or two with their curiosity. Both should have an idea how to discreetly move levers and her footprint on the situations should be pretty small which decreases the danger a bit.

Anyhow, thanks for putting the story out there.

This helps some but yeah, she’s been getting fairly intense personal instruction from a key part of the intelligence gathering and counterintelligence groups for the village so some hypothetical sorts of scenarios or pointed questions would have been relatively easy to work in. Even if they think she’s a spy they’ll likely review procedures, if something happens they’ll start ratcheting up the attention or credence they give to issues she asks about, worst case they pull her for questioning but since she has no lines of communication out that they don’t have access to she’d get let go (unless Danzo or Orochimaru got roped in). Either of those two getting involved would be a longshot though if only due to personality and departmental rivalries.

This one is clearly the building block for the medical story. It is much more frustrating because it is closer to known events and her lack of (visible) effort to change them is frustrating even if the attempts would likely fail or be disregarded. After having a geopolitics discussion as part of her interview and talking about recruiting bloodlines for her to not manage any further discussions about huge events (Rin’s death/hypothetical “tailed beasts as a health care issue” with Rin’s mom) over the course of a year feels unsatisfying. I’ll stick with it to see where you want to take it but right now it feels like the OC is too passive to the course of canon when she’s already blown her cover.

I'm not fond of the Anko working at T&I trope. That's 100% fanon.

In canon, she works for Recon. She literally leads the Infiltration and Reconnaissance Unit. Frankly, I think that's way more interesting than having her work at T&I of all places. Not sure why fanon came up with that.

Too bad the author gave up. It should be forbidden to start writing such good stories and abandon them so soon...

Really so the Yamanaka did cause Kimi's family's financial decline and then give her drugs to loosen her lips and increase her feelings of closeness towards her company as well as make her suggestible thereby forcingher into accepting their offer? Honestly not sure how to feel about that...

This is honestly one of the best Naruto fanfics I’ve read in terms of characterization, world building and pacing. I hope that one you’ll continue it but if you don’t that’s fine.
