This is such a treat to see this posted here.
Atmospheric, lyrical, and reflective. Just like this season it has a sense of the world pausing, hushed and waiting, before something of import to come.
"Her lambs that would be lions" is such a beautiful line, as is the image of holding at bay a heinous 'In Between.' state..let innocence bide a while.
Owen's poem is such a beautiful one, and so right for JRR, showing as he does a brooding menace in the steel and modern accoutrements of war. But I always think also of Sassoon's "A child's prayer'..'may God guard my innocence.'

Your stories are so beautifully crafted. Quiet when necessary and shout-out-loud action when called for. I will most certainly look into more of your entries!
