Beautifully written! Thank you for a glimpse into the happy world of M&M that we weren't privy to...I know, the war memories don't make the story 'happy', but the fact that M&M can together move forward & heal makes this story quite enjoyable. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this wonderful story! It was a lovely Christmas gift to recieve and rereading it makes me nostalgic for the quieter moments M/M shared in canon. You capture their characters with, what appears to be, such ease. I'm going to consider this a missing moment from the show!

I love the way you weaved in Matthew's memories of the Christmas truce in 1914. (Oh what a darling man he is to think of his Mum then!)
Mary as the guardian of his sleep is enchanting. I really enjoyed their banter and the way he relaxes when she sings!

You told me so much about this fic before, but this exceeded my expectations. I loved it all, how Mary sang, how Matthew had a nightmare (FINALLY some discussion of the impact the war had on him), all the little details about the night and the song and the men that sang it. The line that killed me the most was the one about the 18 year old not even old enough to go to university. It was so detailed, so beautiful and poignant!

I also loved that you threw in some flirty Matthew moments in the beginning to lighten the tension. I just loved it all!

Lovely and quite timely with Mary singing in the CS. Really like how at ease they are with each other.
