Narcissa is scary in this

That Narcissa. WOW. Love her. (Also love your ending with Shacklebolt!) Gosh, this is just a dream read. It's challenging to wade through the sea of dreck to find the truly worthwhile reads, but you're a wonder. I appreciate the attention to detail, the refusal to morally simplify things, the avoidance of sappy romantic drivel in favor of a messier realism.

Thanks for pointing out one of my favorite Hermione characteristics: the rule follower who actually doesn't. This opening is fabulous, as Draco calls her out on her misconceptions about herself! And Harry's point of view. The dig about Draco's culinary skills! His fear of witnessing their affection! Oh, Harry. Bless you. An army of children? Hmm. Yes. Unfortunately, yes. I LOVE YOUR NEVILLE. Really, all your supporting characters. Your extension of the Potterverse here is so thorough and rich, unlike many fics that ignore all but the main characters.

This is perfect. The characters are so clearly drawn (the interplay between Harry and Hermione, in particular, is so true to form). Draco's remarks under his breath, calling her "Mistress." Hermione's initial refusal to kiss Draco because of the power imbalance. The ways they push and pull at each other because they can, because they have to. GAH! So brilliant. Beyond that, you're just so effortlessly readable. Your characters are compelling, you don't fall prey to overwriting, you balance dialogue with narrative, and you make me want to read more, more, more! So glad to have found your stuff. I can tell I have lots of enjoyment ahead.
