Hermione is still kind of elitist herself. She really needs to calm her pride. She gets annoyed that Harry did research on werewolves without telling her, even though she did research on the mirror without telling him.

She thought that girl in her class was an idiot for not understanding the purpose of the class, though not everyone reads ahead like she does and often people learn better by doing than reading anyway. She just seems to think she's better than everyone. I'm not criticizing the writing, though, canon Hermione had these traits too. I just hope she chills out.

It is kind of interesting that Hermione was so insecure when Harry was doing secret research on his own that she demanded answers and got angry to be left out. It wasn't just the soul research either but even the tape Dudley gave him.

Whereas Harry catches her doing research that she won't tell him, and while he does feel a little left out, he decides to respect her privacy and give her space. She even immediately asks him what he's doing in the alley after she's caught keeping secrets. At least his sassy response was well received enough. I still think she needs to let go of some of her pride and entitlement. Her temper over things like that is pretty abrasive and frustrating.

You've really hit it home with that last line! A reference and the legendary writer P.G. Wodehouse is absolutely fitting to end this chapter!

I really like this concept, I'd actually thought of writing a story like it before I came across this one.

I definitely don't like Dumbledore though. He had no right to give away a Potter family heirloom to someone else. I hope karma bites him eventually. Also don't care much for Ron and Neville.

But I do like the story so far.

I really enjoy reading this fic and couldn't help but wonder what amazing story you could create on your own with that idea of mage sight

Losing interest with the introduction of the Goblet contract. Harry has left nothing of him in the magical world. His acceptance of Admission was written by Petunia, there's no reason why he should be bound by the contract. No blood, no signature.

This fic is one I make a point to read at least once a year, it's that freaking good

I come back to this story over and over again. I truly enjoyed the concept and the character development. This story is the one I read when I am having a difficult time.
