| Emmy07 chapter 6 . 4/24/2016 WOW! So I just finished this story and I was totally glued. I stayed up later than I should've last night just to get a couple chapters in! I have to say, it was a total mind f**k to see Erica go down the path that she did. It totally wasn't her, but it wasn't unexpected considering who she had to hang out with. One thing that pissed me off was how Amanda and Michael acted (they weren't much better than Erica), and how some of the characters even referred to Erica as a (spoiled) brat. I completely disagree with it. Absolutely, she was out of line and in no way am I condoning how she acted, but it's hard for a kid to feel the way she did, especially since she never got proper help for her issues, which she is still definitely struggling with. Michael really pissed me off in the fifth chapter, when he resorted to getting physical with her (and I'm not even referring to him *apparently* almost slapping her). I have a friendly writing tip for you. You would state how Erica felt, but going into detail with those kinds of things really helps the reader try to truly understand how she's truly feeling. Like when she says "it" makes her chest hurt. You can go on to say something like, "She felt like a thousand needles were piercing her chest" or "She felt like she was ready to combust". I just wanted to mention that. :) Anyway, you did a great job on this story! I thoroughly enjoy reading every bit of it! Awesome job. |
