I wish you continued this story this have a lot of potential.

The Flood should wipeout the Salarians, Turians and those goddamn Citadel a-holes.

The insurrectionist plot kills it entirely. Therr might be terrorists capable of stealing a ship, but there is little to no actual possibility of a real insurrection. Especially if they are screening those being transported to new colonies. The insurrection in UNSC space happened after hundreds of years and the use of nukes. A new colony being taken over is so unlikely it might as well be impossible, unless the military and colonists were literally just thrown together with random people.

I like the human side, though the timeline seems a bit faster than one would expect.
The covenant side is a major turn-away. They have no realistic survival prospects, unless you plan to alter both core sections of their religion and society. There are few to no females on those ships, few to no technicians, and little to no supplies to rebuild. They would die off as a society in droves after a few years.

Did you really just have a FORERUNNER monitor taken out by an Overload?! That makes absolutely no sense and has completely ruined any believability left in this story.

In the mass effect games a dreadnoughts cannon is stated to fire a 20kg projectile at 1.3% the speed of light, aka insane speed. However in HALO a super MAC is firing a 3,0000ton projectile at 10% the speed of light, and a regular mac at 4%.

Halo MAC's are literally a straight upgrade in every sense.

Ya know...I thought UNSC ships would be a lot stronger...
Considering what many fans of Halo 'd said about how UNSC spaceships are as powerful if not more powerful than Terran ones in Starcraft, and one Terran Battlecruiser "Hyperion" (3-11km, depend on how one view 2 leagues) (now one of the few Flagships of the Terran Dominion under the rule of Valerian Mensk) is enough to wipe the floor with at least 12 of the most advanced dreadnoughts of the Citadel council races at the same time.
I would like to think that they stand a pretty fair chance, lack luster of a ground force aside.
