Reviews for The Exaltation of the Lark |

![]() ![]() ![]() This is brilliant. A beautiful follow up to Je Te Plumerais. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It was... interesting |
![]() ![]() ![]() If only I could purr... Love it! Especially the prostitution/polyjuice scenes, as Lucius is slowly coming to terms with the full effect Harry has on him. It's still beautifully written, as always, and the slow pace fits so well with the story. (Though you might want to know the same chapter appears twice.) |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's freaking emotional and I feel like crying, except I'm not and... Wonderful ad always. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Only 14 reviews? Seriously? This is a work of art, it deserves more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice story. It was interesting to read. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Really loved the first one, and Lucius's point of view isn't any less delicious. He doesn't become sappy at any point but he's still in love, which is amazing and wonderful. I found his reactions to how people changed after the war interesting too, how Draco was lost to him and how he absolutely hates Snape. The ending is perfect as well. You and your story are exquisite. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's good to see Lucius' point of view! Thanks! |
![]() ![]() god i love this. it has a beautiful ending that somehow still makes my heart ache. |
![]() ![]() ![]() yes! lucius's pov. wow. very nice. |
![]() ![]() I really loved this series. I rediscovered it through switchknife's reccs site. I love the way you delicately handle the growth of the relationship. I love the stark characterization of Lucius in the second part. The poignancy of the polyjuice prostitution scene. And the French. Really, really beautiful. The third part - my heart goes out to Sirius. I think this is the first marriage fic I've read that hasn't been a cringeworthy shmoopfest. I really like Lucius' voice thougout the series - the superimposition of crudity and grace. Crass language and refined manners. Perfect. My only criticism would be the last line in the second part. I generally consider it bad for to end anything with "and I will love him for all eternity." The sentiment was already perfectly expressed, I thought, with the marriage proposal. But really - lovely. The language is just so...pretty. Lucius is so very human and real. I love his pathetic efforts to recapture pieces of Harry after he is parted from him, and the imagery of broken birds. I think this fic broke me. *happy sigh* -Lierdumoa ( ~lierdumoa/) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Okay, am ass. Forgot to mention in the other review of "Je Te Plumerais" that I DEMANDED that I be the one to code the two for (when I was a mod there). Yes. I demanded to code. Funny, that. Also, I suck. I misspelled "by" on the other review. *plebe* |
![]() ![]() ![]() just as good as the first instalment. |
![]() ![]() ![]() *smiles softly* Broken broken broken broken... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Beautiful, beautiful. It's amazing to me that you've managed to keep Lucius just as evil/vicious without losing any of the surprising tenderness of his feelings for Harry. Fan-friggin-tastic. I'm going to save this one to my computer for all time. Great job! |
