the sasuke of cannon had about 45 years to get to that point, the sheer damage done by the combination of curse seal and a much more experienced tsukuyomi pretty much erased all that healing and threw a massive amount of crap on top of it.
Combine that with his deeply rooted inferiority/superiority complex issues, and you get the sasuke we all know and love to hate or hate to love.

Thanks for the reply, I know my review made it seem like I was considering the power levels to have been acceptable and that isn't true. My opinion is that the likes of legends like Madara Uchiha should be powerful, but not in the way that he was. I understand that the likes of the Tengai shinsei were ridiculous, and everything past that was just retarded. I do not however believe that anything that happened before that was outside of the realms of canon, the established laws of chakra and jutsu in and of themselves weren't blown out of the water. Barring a few situations, which I think only got a pass with me because they were based on already vague ideas. The likes of Izanami, Izanagi, using the Edo Tensei to such a scale, the Kamui, Obito controlling the tailed beasts like he did. I believe those were the upper level of what the established canon allowed, everything after was a bit of an ass-pull. Even the Third Raikage to an extent was kinda retarded, I don't see how the lightning armor was the perfect defence and attack at the same time.

But back to my original point, I believe the likes of Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju should still be powerful, not as powerful as they were but they should be on a pedestal. And I believe this pedestal should be born of their skill and experience. Madara's ability to use the Susanoo in a tactical method, to use his chakra in an incredibly efficient but still overwhelming way. Take for example Madara's introductory fight, that was pure skill and the abilities of the basic sharingan, it was not only visually impressive, but it worked incredibly well to establish Madara's superiority. That fight really got me hyped for proper one on one fights, taking things back to basics. But it fucked itself with the meteor.

As for the chapter, it was a solid chapter honestly, good development, great characterizations all around, the characters all fit but come across as believable people, and I love the relationship between Kakashi and his students, I can definitely see him as someone who cares about his students and that makes him a really likable character. There's nothing worse than a story with a douchebag focal character, because no matter how good the story is, the focus of the story will always repel me, shadowing my opinion. You've done it right, and I can't wait to see more.

Kakashi is the worst sensei . The mission in wave could have been fatal had Haku not ( amazingly ) merciful. Even after Wave mission Kakashi was still too laid back.
Yes, I like your story. Maybe in this story Sasuke would have stronger bond with his Team and will think twice before abandoning them.

I agree that Kakashi not beating the avenger mentality out of Sasuke was one of his worst mistakes. One that led to Sasuke's eventual defection.

Very interesting premise, I think sometimes author's forget that all you need is a small change to flip everything on it's head, usually this ends up making more sense anyway, but that's enough of that. I'm really liking your characterisation of Kakashi, he's acting now how he's been acting during the war in the anime, a serious but fair, wise commander and I love seeing that. With the power levels thing, I understand that the source material got fucking ridiculous, but I don't personally believe it came out of nowhere, with the set up Kishimoto had I believe it made perfect sense that things had the potential to get so out of hand, barring a minor fuck up at the end with Kaguya, making Madara too OP and the sage inheritance stuff, I think the established canon was perfectly fine power-wise. It'll be interesting to see how you balance it, but I hope characters like Pain and Itachi remain on their pedestal of OPness. In fact I think it would be a good idea to maybe power up some characters, the likes of Deidara, Sasori, Hidan, the Third Hokage, Kakashi, Tsunade, Kakuzu, Konan and even to an extent Obito (before the rinnegan/jinchuuriki bullshit at the end) didn't really get a chance to shine throughout the anime or even show their potential, and I hope you can remedy that.

I loved this story so far. Btw, the idea with the racion bars was great. Teach that Uchiha to live a little.
