![]() ![]() ![]() nooo! not commercials! |
![]() ![]() ![]() ::claps enthusiastically:: That was great! Very nicely detailed. My favorite part was how the two rebuffed each other: it wasn't just "Hey, let's be friends." "Okie, dokey." It's a deeper look into each of their mindsets and I liked how it showed their shame coupled with grief started the friendship. Very good writing, descripitions, and Tolkien-ish. ~Michelle |
![]() ![]() ![]() O this was really really really good! I hope you write a sequel of some sorts! **~ Dy *~* |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a lovely enterlude and explination for so odd a friendship. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Aw, that was really, really good, all sweet and hilarious, and everyone was blessedly true to character. Heheh, gotta love it, dwarves and elves. Great work! This is such a nice little piece. ~Holly~ |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wonderful. It was very rich, and I think it would have gone that way, or something along the lines. Many others would have just made tem like each other instantly, but this was more realistic. I think it was also funny, and sweet. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Okay, this ruled. As I took a year between reading FOTR and TT, I failed to notice that Gimli and Legolas were just suddenly the best of friends! This, though, made me remember a lot of my reactions when I was reading - such as, "They put the dwarf and the elf in one boat? Are they mad?" (post-Lothlorien) And then reading TT, one forgets that their races hate each other! I really, really liked this. Thier thought processes as they worked themselves up to just talking were nearly exactly the same, up to mistaking Gandalf's words and trying to take on far, far more than they could handle. I especially liked the last chapter, mostly just because that's when they finally figure out how to go about becoming friends. Anyway. I doubt I'm making much sense, so I'll simply say that this is one of the best LOTR fics I've ever read, and shut up before I hurt myself. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is amazing. This is like exactly what they'd say to one another...*pause* Mr. Tolkien? Have you returned from the dead? Oh wow. This is amazing. Wow wow wow. I gotta go read more. I take my hat off to you Master Tolkien and I might add this to my favourite stories...in fact I will! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Funny, clever, touching, beautifully done. Thanks! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Silly foolish Elf and Dwarf! CAN'T WE ALL JUST BE FRIENDS? I mean... GAH! Sometimes you just want to knock their heads together, don't you! Hmm... I would say that means you nailed the characterizations, Lemur, if I'm reacting this passionately to their stubbornness in your story. LOL! Yes, I think that's probably exactly how it went down beneath the eaves of Lorien, if only Frodo had followed these two and recorded their conversations. Like, what, he had bigger things to worry about than the growing relationship of our dear Elf and Dwarf? ...Oh right, the Ring thing... well, still, some of us would have appreciated a more detailed account like this one! : ) Thanks for giving it to us, Lemur! I thoroughly enjoyed it! |
![]() ![]() very good story. Iakso love the frirndship of these two so unalike people. it was great to see that even in a depresiion you could find the joy of laughter very well done |
![]() ![]() ![]() well, that was a great ending to a great story! it was very funny at parts, and i especially enjoyed the gimli and legolas friendship. i also liked the fact that legolas interpreted the lament for gimli only. good work. i look forward to more stories from you. you write l/g friendships very well. Bye for now, Verde :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() A beatiful ending to a wonderful story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() You did indeed live up to and surpass my expectations. I'll try to exercise some self control and not beg for a sequel or spin off...yet... :-) |
