![]() ![]() ![]() I can see Warren’s feelings for Stacy (which just came out of nowhere in the comics) seem to be coming out here, though in this instance they are far more predatory (not that the original wasn’t creepy either). Seems Gwen is getting suspicious of Peter, though I’ve a feeling she’s not pressing the issue for now, since she did get a taste of being attacked as one of Pete’s loved ones. I sense more competition from MJ. I’m getting the impression that she’s not MEANING to fall in love with Peter, but is. We’ll see how that goes, I guess. I’m kind of wondering how Harry convinced Midtown High to let him take the entire class to Florida. I’ve been on big school trips, but not to that magnitude, and I’d imagine on paper the Osborn family isn’t in the best position to be burning through cash right now. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I wished Gwen was bitten, it would make everything easier. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a wonderful story you've written here. It's one of my favorite Spider-Man stories of all time. I'd say it rivals The Shocker: Legit in some ways. I come from the generation that grew up on the Spider-Man cartoon so I only had a very casual relationship with the Spider-man mythos and still do. I wasn't a Gwen Stacey fan and didn't know too much about her before this story. You drew a couple of tears from me after her death that I imagine that the original comic wouldn't have been able to do. Well done. I was very disappointed to see that you haven't written anything (that I'd be interested in) beyond this fic. Thank for an entertaining two days. If you ever get back into writing...I hope you visit the Marvel universe again. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This part was fun. We finally get the Scorpion, though compared to the other villains he does kind of come out of nowhere. I liked how in the show you actually got to meet the villains before their alter-egos (if they had them) and overtime it kind of became their origin story. I guess this is due in part because Scorpion has mostly been nothing more than a petty thug, but I liked how Weissman gave personalities/pathos to some of the B to C tier villains. I think the fight could have been a bit longer; many of Spidey’s fights in SSM were long and brutal, but maybe because of how fast-paced it was it might translate differently on text. I enjoyed MJ and Peter hanging out together. Their chemistry was great, and I loved that little joke you made where it seemed they were doing it. I think we all know they’re going to hook up, but I can tell you’re trying to take care of Gwen first, so we’ll see how that goes. It’s also good you’re showing that Harry is not becoming Norman 2.0 and picking up where he left off, with his concern for civilians. Sadly, it looks like he’s being led along by Smythe down a dark path. I’m guessing this isn’t going to end well for him. Enjoyed the reference to JJJ creating the Scorpion in the original comics. Realistically, it wouldn’t have worked out for him if he tried that; assuming Scorpion didn’t kill him, he would squeal on him, JJJ would have lost all his credibility and most likely be sent to prison for creating him in the first place. Still, another good start to what could have been. I’ll be back for the rest! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is a good first arc here. Much like in the original, we are introduced to the Hobgoblin, but is quickly stomped out of the picture. I know a little bit about Hobgoblin plays out in canon, so I won’t get into that. Seems Pete is going to have a new job, which is ultimately a goos thing. It gets annoying when after decades he still has that gig. I think even cell-phone cameras at this point can capture decent pictures of a Spider-Man. Plus, even when Peter has a new career, he keeps botching it and return back to his roots, because comics! Interestingly, Kingpin was first pitched to be the Big Man, but legal issues prevented that from happening and we wound up with a revamped Tombstone. I don’t know if we would have ever gotten Fisk had the series continued, but there is a fan-made Season 3 trailer that shows Hammerhead as the big man with a white suit, perhaps as a reference to Fisk. So, it seems we have Smythe, and we seem to be continuing with that weird 90s trend of giving disabled people hover chairs instead of proper wheel chairs. I really liked the Osborn testament video. Most incarnations have Osborn making enhancement substances just cause. Here, he has a deeper motivation. He makes it almost sound noble, but we know how south those kinds of things go with Norman. And I like how Harry’s descent into villainy is a cross between living up to what he thinks is his father’s legacy and his hatred for Spider-Man. It’s usually just the later. I’ll be back soon enough to read the rest. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Seems we’re going to get into that Spring Break Movie Weisman was talking about. I’m kind of meh on introducing Spider-Man’s lesser foes. But I must admit, that fight with The Grizzly was hilarious. I guess just being a big guy can be considered a super power, but with all that’s happened in this world, I would try to add other skills to my non-existent crime resume. Harry seems to be becoming more scummy overtime. He’s not all the way there, but I don’t want to know what’s happening behind closed doors (who am I kidding? Yes I do) That comment on Lord of the Flies was funny. Teens are indeed monsters if you don’t reign them in. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Been looking for a fic for a possible 3rd season (and hopefully beyond) and so far I like what I’m seeing. It’s kind of cool that we open up with no major villains, just Peter Parker having a bad day and doubts about what he was doing. I like how we see Peter makes his web fluid, as that detail is glossed over every medium. I think only the Amazing Spider-Man movie went into that, and even then it was just modified spider-silk. In all honesty, I’ve mixed feelings about including other Marvel characters in SSM. It’s cool to do on one hand, since it happens all the time in canon. On the other, given the rights Sony had at the time, I liked how the series was Spidey-only during its two seasons, and kind of like the idea of keeping it that way. And we have our foreshadowing of Hobgoblin! |
![]() ![]() ![]() You should add Felicia Hardy to create a foursome romantic relationship for Peter Parker aka Spiderman because in the comics that is another comics lover for Peter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I find it ironic with Spiderman 's, Dare Devil's, Flash's and Batman's independent strict wars against crime within both Marvel comics and DC comics universes and yet within the distant futures of both universes it is the world being by Corporate based governments and the only way that they could have been kept in check is if a genuine robin hood sort of organization of common criminals similar to what you find in the Leverage TV show was formed. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Would you consider a sequel that explores Mary Jane Watson Parker 's and Peter Parker 's family life from the years 2044-2099. I apologize this timeline just left me extremely curious for it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Could you consider turning your timeline into more of a story in of itself. |
![]() ![]() ![]() well damn, now i feel bad for that little girl... |
![]() ![]() ![]() oh my god XD! second time now! Srsly, give this man a gold medal for making MJ go VSCO XD XD XD XD |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was horrible. Not that I regret finding this story but my experience was that I read and loved the original version which you then George Lucased to death. It was so long I didn't feel like rereading the whole thing just to play Where's Waldo for the continuity changes, retcons, and grammer tweeks. When Game of Thrones started I stopped after the first season deciding that I could tell it was going to be so dark I would become apethetic watching it. I would wait to see if it had a good ending with characters I liked surviving to the end. I dodged that bullet too. So I decided to come back here after it was finished and skim to see if it had a happy ending. Gwen dying has NEVER been a decision that has gone over well in any continuity ever. It's just remembered as the precursor for fridging. You took all the good parts of spider-man's franchise and funneled them into one home-made continuity but decided to add the second worst part? You made fun of people thinking spider-ock was the real mccoy. Why didn't you think you could rise above putting in the famously contrived tragedy? Because the comics always do? Haven't you ever noticed that Spider-man NEVER gets a happy ending? Except for that bad Ultimate Spider-man cartoon between What If stories, future timelines, and cancled comics and cartoons ending before storylines run their course Spidey's ID is outed, stuck on another planet, living with the guilt he killed his wife with somehow radioactive semen, the list goes on. Superman has had TWO epilogues with at least happy-ish endings. Whatever Happened To The Man of Tomarrow and All Star Superman were great. Not even fanfiction has had Spidey's rogues gallery reformed even though most aren't that evil compared to most villians. For gods sake someone just let the man retire get married and have children and close the book. There is a canon multiverse here, just give us one universe where everyone like Gwen AND Harry is allowed to be alive. You run into the same problem inflicted on him by Joephisto who sees an ending as a bad thing by giving him never ending problems because Batroc from Gwenpool was right. Now I know you might look at my profile after reading this and see that I too have a story and your story doesn't just eat my story for lunch but looks at it as a free sample on a cocktail toothpick disdainfully and decides its not worth the money. You are the better author there is no contest. But you don't have to know how to cook to know when food tastes bad and brother reading Gwen die again after being legitimately built up as a love interest was a gross bandaid in my dessert after an amazing dinner. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I loved the reference to the 90's cartoon when Herman yelled the "I'll chase you to the ends of the Earth!" line. Very good job there. |
