Pretty good fic, too sappy at a times or ridiculous at times (Voldinsinging about spam?), but I'm a sucker for "leave Magical Britain die off on its own" plots.

House elves ignored Sabbers because it was student's pet. But another reason was why student was allowed a rat at all as a pet? Introduction letter to Hogwarts only listed cat, owl or toad as possible pets (HP&PS).

Kinda a downer that all 3wt champs survived, but I hope sparkly boy of Hufflepuff lost his arm for good!

Instead of windfall out of the blue 0.05 seconds after the story starts, maybe stretch things out and put them way before the story as AU? Like, Hr was his gf for mid previous year, not for like 2 minutes? Etc.
Also, did you just put 2 house elves behind dark arts research? Hilarious!

I don’t know how I have never read this fic before! It was such an easy and smooth read that I finished it in one sitting :) Such an interesting premise!

Ron isn't enjoying the spotlight now, is he? And Fumblemort must be trying to think of some way of forcing Harry to return. He knows that as soon as it becomes public knowledge that Harry Potter has left Britain everybody and their dead relatives will be looking at him. Unfortunately, just not in the way he wants. And it's about to become extremely public just as soon as all Potter and Black monies are removed. The so-call newspaper The Daily Prophet might just go bankrupt after being forced to repay all the money they didn't since 1981. The Goblins won't be happy with anyone after being forced to transfer all the Potter and Black accounts to Katabisi bank in Spain. And even better, the Wizengamot can't touch any of it. They refused to allow that bank into England centuries ago and now that's about to bite them in the ass. Vulturewurst won't be any happier about this than Good Ole Fumblemort will be as neither can do a damn thing about it. They'd have to find a family of equal or greater wealth to deposit their wealth in Gringotts to make up for the loss of both Potter and Black families wealth. And the country is gonna be poor for a very long time as I don't foresee either Harry or Sirius returning to England anytime in the future.

This is gonna go over as well as screen doors on a submarine with Good Ole Fumblemort! Not to mention Vulturewurst. Both seem to want Harry James Potter dead. One just wants to drag it out for a few more years. But neither one is to be trusted. Not even with a corpse! Vulturewurst would turn it into a Zombie and GOD alone knows what Fumblemort would do with/to it! A, Harry has left Britain for Spain, B, the Potter fortune has left Britain as well, C, Sirius has been cleared of all charges against him in Spain and D, Sirius has gotten back his Guardianship of Harry. For these four reasons Good Ole Fumblemort is going to have a major fit. Now when the Black fortune leaves also leave's Britain, along with the news that Harry Potter has left the country with no intention of ever returning, well Good Ole Fumblemort will be looking for all the lynch mobs after him because of it. Of course, by that time those same lynch mobs might not be able to afford the rope to lynch him with anyways.

In answer to your question, I can think of one extremely good reason why they didn't. Good Ole Fumblemort told them to ignore it. Anyhoo,( BTW, that ain't mine! I stole it from someone else on I think ) now that Harry and Hermione are gone the excrement's really gonna hit the rotary impeller in extreme amounts. The old Fraudster isn't gonna like having his weapon escape his control. It wouldn't surprise me that he wouldn't know until McGonagall tells him they haven't shown up for any of their classes nor meals. I figure Fumblemort's next move would be to have the Elves search the school for them. Once they report back that neither are in the school he'll panic. His persona of the Leader of the Light will take a severe beating in both the Ministry an the press over it as well. Will he lose one or more of his positions over it? That I can't say but I do think he'd deserve it. I also agree with Sirius idea to get Hermione s' parents out as well. It doesn't take a great stretch of the imagination to see Good Ole Fumblemort using them to force both teens back to Hogwash. That and the fact that Good Ole Fumblemort isn't as light as he wants everybody to believe. Now with Sirius's new girlfriend being a Curse Breaker that opens the door for her to recognize the Horcrux in Harry's scar and be able to do something about it. Also depending on how you write this the Goblins could very well get involved if they absolutely hate Horcruxes. Especially if they were the one to remove the one from Harry's scar and use it to find any others Vulturewurst might've made. Add to that idea that Harry described his destruction of the diary in his second year and that would very likely give them the clue that Vulturewurst made more than one. All around a major win for the true side of Light.

I can see how this reaction would fit Harry at this point in his life. Though, if Dudley had a computer in his room at Privet Dr, I'm quite sure there'd be porn on it. And of course, if it was found by his parents, he'd be sure to say " The Freak put it there! ". And naturally they'd believe him. Anyhoo, I'm quite sure Good Ole Fumblemort isn't at all happy with Harry and Hermione for Harry not participating. It threw quite the spanner into the old Fraudsters' plans for the Tournament. After all, if Harry doesn't compete Vulturewurst can't use his blood to regain a body. He'll have to settle for someone else's. Depending on just how strong a wizard Peter is using his flesh in the ritual could either strengthen or weaken Vulturewurst's new body. Hey, there has to be some adverse reaction to using the bones of a muggle in that resurrection ritual! And if Peter is as weak a wizard as he's usually portrayed as that should also show up in Vulturewursts' resurrected form. After all, there is NO MAGIC in Riddle Sr's bones and if Peter is weak it stands to reason that should also show up in the finished form. Meaning old Moldy Voldy should be much weaker than he originally was. Though personally, I really like the two fics where Sirius and Remus or Remus or Sirus switched Riddle Sr's bone for that of a dead animal transfigured to look like the Sr's bones. In one it was a dead squirrel in another it was a skunk. And with Voldy's anger management problems he was spraying everywhere! Or even funnier still Harry arranged to have a pouch of Acromanatula blood hidden on his arm beneath the sleeve of his robe. This is what Peter took and dropped into the caldron. Thus, Vulturewurst came out part spider and couldn't talk for the spider mouth he now had. Couldn't happen to a better man except for maybe Fumblemort.

Oh, this is so gonna send mega size Tsunamis through the magical world! Especially if the Goblet of Fire reacts PUNISHING Crouch Jr for not competing in the first task. That would show that Harry truly DIDN'T enter his name. And who knows, maybe some of that punishment would pass along to Poor Ole Vulturewurst. Maybe doing something like in the fic where the Goblet wasn't fully aware but damn close! In that one it kicked ole Moldy Voldy out of his Homunculus baby body as well as burning it to ashes. Of course, the only body near enough for him to possess was Wormtail. After all, there's no way he'd want to possess his snake! Anyhoo, getting back to this chapter I think that Good Ole Fumblemort will have a fit when Crouch Jr is attacked and punished by the Goblet. After all, that's not part of the plan.

The all male school has a female noun name, all 3 do actually.
In Spanish, male nouns are used for mixed gender groups (mob, audience or population as examples). No fix but change for the all male school, while change name or history for mixed gender school. In the latter case I would propose an all girl school that closed and was reopened mix gender but keeping the same name. Good scholastic reputation, known location, revered founder whatever.
