| phoenixlady7 chapter 1 . 3/21/2015 Don't listen to anyone flaming you about how historically accurate your story is. It's fanFICTION, it doesn't have to be accurate. For that matter, KHR canon takes a lot of liberties with the Italian mafia as it is anyway. And the only Russians in mentioned in canon were maybe the Giegue Family (and they may have been German or something, I don't remember) Dmitriy mentioned that Sonya would have to do bigger heists to actually be known as a great thief...does he mean something along the lines of Arsene Lupin/Carmen Sandiego? If so, I'd like to lampshade the fact that a lot of the more outrageous heists were pretty senseless - they spend way more time and resources to get the loot than its actually worth. Not to mention that most of their targets, like the Hope Diamond, are too distinctive to actually liquidate. So Lupin and Sandiego spend millions to get... a trophy/bragging rights. It would make far more sense for Sonya to steal the high profile loot...then put it back; and use the ensuing confusion to make a killing on counterfeits. If you are planning on going the monumental theft route, if you go on you'll find several Real Life examples under Monumental Theft that were in Russia: it seems that someone decided to steal a few bridges for scrap metal. And a church. |
