Just finished this fic and I have to say its quiet good. That said, about a line in this chapter,
"I don't know. I'd need to actually see it. These reports don't make sense. You shouldn't be able to just transplant another species' DNA into a human fetus. Especially not entire cells, that's not how genetic engineering works."
While the part about transplanting cells is right, the part about transplanting DNA is not. Genetic engineering in Mass Effect is fully capable of transplanting the traits of one species and adding it to another, doing so just happens to be illegal under Systems Alliance Law. Specifically, while improving already existing traits is legal(such as improving strength) add new traits(like gills to breath under water) is not legal.

Funny enough, Citadel Law is actually less restrictive, in Citadel space your completely fine with creating life as long as said life isn't sentient(which makes one wonder about some of the uplifted animals humanity made prior to First Contact, before the Systems Alliance parliament started getting paranoid about what said genetic engineering would end up doing to humanity and earth's biodiversity).

What you've written here is just simply amazing. I've never played FFVII or FFVII Crisis Core but reading this is getting me to understand the story or plotline of both games. Sure i've had a general understanding of the plot but this story simply fleshed the characters out. This is especially true with Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis.

Understanding Sephiroth's motivations and seeing him become the villain he is in canon made me love his character all the more. I appreciate the what ifs in his character that is occurring now because Shepard was there. His interactions with Shepard is adorable too. And reading that romance sub-plot between them was immensely satisfying because it was not done excessively.

Angeal and Genesis' troubles fill me with despair when i see them struggle. I certainly hope they have a good ending. I definitely look forward to seeing more of the main canon protagonists though like Tifa and Cloud who are currently troopers.

At this point I’m expecting anything, even a JENOVA!Shepard, though Shephiroth would be weird if she was half JENOVA.
Maybe the real reason Hojo didn’t have any Female SOLDIERs was because of a JENOVA Hijack?

And poor Shepard. Damn it's a hard thing both, trying to convince the guy AND yourself of that notion.

Oh my gosh! Love the Shepard and sephiroth moment. So here is a question, did Genesis actually scan her ... I almost want scout to send out a signal to a ship passing just close enough that he and Shepard are alive on planet and need assistance. A data packet if anything.
I just can't wait for their expressions at meeting real live aliens. Garrus is my favorite!
