Right, I’ll just say it. You are one of the best writers I’ve ever encountered in the wild. Your characters are dynamic and their struggles are relatable. So relatable that, at times I almost wanted to throw my iPad down in frustration because it was all just too real and my heart ached for them. I was furious with Zuko and I suffered alongside Katara. Then, suddenly, you turned the world on it’s head and the two of them swapped places in my heart. It was painful but I couldn’t stop. I felt like I was just as helplessly driven forward toward the next beat of the story, right alongside your characters. I just had to clench my teeth and hope, like them, that I was headed for some kind of absolution. I finished Call me Katto and TKOTKP in 4 days and lost quite a bit of sleep along the way. Any writer that can evoke that level of emotional investment from a reader is writing at a professional level. I know it’s hard for an artist of any kind to view their work as it’s intended to be by their audience so let me tell you, you’ve done something truly amazing here. I also know it hasn’t been easy for you, and there’s a deeper layer to this story that none of us but you will ever know. That layer is made up of your personal struggles; the ideas and plot lines thrown out or changing direction, the writers block, the pressure, finding the free time to write and a million other little things. A part of me wants to ask what the hell you’re doing here, wasting your time when you should be working on the outline of your first novel, but a shamefully bigger portion is only grateful. Please tell me you have a Patreon so I can feel a bit less shameless, you’d be doing me huge favor.

hey! this is a really really good story so far! ive read both books in the last couple days heh. i noticed you mentioned you accepted recommendations on where to take the story, i think the confrontation between ozai and zuko is critical to zuko's final growth. after that, i guess it would be a matter of building up to the final confrontations between aang and ozai, and zuko and azula. I really enjoy katara's character! i think her growth has been beautifully developed so far! hope youre doing well! cant wait to see where you take the story!

So I took a break from this fic a few chapters and years back, I wanted to wait til more had been posted to catch up, and I was kinda worried it would be abandoned and I’d be too attached. But I’m so so glad that wasn’t the case. I’m so grateful that you continue to update even though you obviously have things in your life and don’t owe any of us anything. You do all this for free with no expectations and I’m so grateful.
On to the story, it’s more enjoyable I think to read it all together than chapter by chapter and I understand why you’d be critical yourself after years, but I have a lot of faith in you and I’m so so excited to see where it’ll go. I’m proud of Zuko and hope he gets some moment similar to the day of black sun and him and katara sort their shit out, there’s a lot to sort out.
