I would like to say that the Jedi, while never encountering Sith and surviving had multiple Jedi fall to the dark side. So they have encountered dark force users just not Sith

Maul's age doesn't bother me cause I thought in Star wars age doesn't matter only capability. I mean Padema was elected Queen at 14 years of age(havent read anything or seen movies ) but even if thats not normal that has got to mean that Queens got to be highly capable and She even went to the Senate during war to get help.
