And we get a timeskip! I wonder what happened meantime, so long we know that Tom is the handsome and popular guy who all girls want! And that Hermione is a proper spy/trusted Slytherin. I also wonder if Tom doesn't suspect about the things she is doing.

Yes! I jumped for joy when I got the notification of the update! I don’t think any story has stuck with me like this one has. I have found myself checking back here every so often in case I’d missed it but the new chapter is here! I think I’d continue to check back for years just to see if there was a new chapter.
I LOVE the darkness to this! And not just a I-like-it-because-it’s-dark sort of way. The characters development makes this story what it is. Tom’s obsession with Hermione is so beautifully crafted that it draws me in with his twisted motivations. He has his own truth and outlook that makes him understandably think he is better than everyone around him and it is such a key part to his character/actions but he is still a child, naive, sometimes overcompensating to seem superior. And everything comes back to the twisted connection to the one person who really knows him. Hermione.
Her principles and need to demonstrate that she is the opposite of Tom have her stooping to his level just to prove her point. But Tom gets so under her skin she lets her guard down and isn’t afraid to get dirty to convince him of this, but it works just the opposite and he sees the darkness lurking beneath. He knows her too.
I can’t wait for more gruesome and twisted turns to come!

Whatttt?! Tom riddle a Gryffindor?! I am shocked and intrigued! This is such a fun story so far! Super different from anything else I have read!

Wow! So lovely to see an update from this! Absolutely love the time skips, and the perverse handkerchief moment! So creatively creepy! It fits Tom perfectly!

Completely got the Voldemort reference and the other small callbacks to past chapters (I think)! It’s hard to forget them with how original and memorable this fic is! Beyond a strong female role model in a sexist era, I was wondering if Amelia Earhart was another subtle reference to drowning? Since that was her most likely fate beyond countless possibilities.

I am all here for the suggestion of moving this story onto A03! I definitely feel like it would have a better reading experience, for sure! And I couldn’t believe you were talking about the uploads here as “raw” - they are so freaking good!

I love how ugly and grotesque it is. Can't wait for them to get older and things getting even uglier and more grotesque. Also big fan how you incorporate all those references to 1930s politics and events. Whilst reading you can tell when it takes place, as a history major I much appreciate it, it makes the story feel authenticone question I do have though is why is Tom in Gryffindor? I kinda get why Hermione is now in Slytherin, but I don't get why Tom was sorted into Gryffindor. Sure he can act like one because he's always good at putting on a show, but his heart is so un-gryffindor-ish?
anyway, keep up the good work. Very excited to see what happens next. X
