Reviews for Draco Malfoy and the Practice of Rationality |
---|
![]() ![]() ![]() I love this story and I'm very happy that you picked up were the first one left off. |
![]() ![]() Tao! You're on fire! I don't know how you keep managing to churn out these mega chapters one after another - you're allowed to take breaks, you know. XD Good tips for problem solving (and awesome job of weaving them into the narrative). I might even try out a couple. Thanks, TaoG! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I wonder if Draco will become a science fiction fiend after this. Probably not like Harry, but I could see it becoming a bit of a hobby. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This gets better with every chapter :) |
![]() ![]() If you are going to make the laws of robotics a plot point, just remember that the robots did take over and pretty much rule humanity in secret for the last 10,000 years. Not that Asimov could ever forget, as that was kind of the whole point. The Foundation series is the same universe as most of the early robot series, more or less. I forget about I, Robot in particular, but you may as well assume it. Just making sure you don't go the easy/pop culture route in which the 3 laws actually acted as a meaningful constraint on AI behavior. |
![]() ![]() ![]() i sang "i write sins not tragedies" when i read "of rationality" like instantly LOL |
![]() ![]() Welcome back and thanks for the update! As for Draco...thought he was gonna go all Winter Soldier on us for a moment there. ;) I'm curious how Hermione got to Draco so fast but I'm glad she did. Wonder if their friendship will be closer after this? I dig the way you're having Draco figure out the secret behind the healings, it's clever. Intrigued just thinking about what Draco's conversation with Harry is going to be like once he finishes connecting the dots. |
![]() ![]() Seeing patterns that aren't there is more generally referred to as "apophenia" wherein pareidolia could be seen as a more specific example of apophenia. Pareidolia mostly has to do with vision and auditory perceptions, such as hearing your phone/doorbell ring when you're taking a shower or seeing a certain shape in a cloud. Just y'know, in case you missed this. Loving the fic so far by the way! Will we get any info on whether Harry is using the Elder Wand now or his old one? It would be interesting to see whether he is on the same level as the rest of his year-mates. |
![]() ![]() ![]() :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD |
![]() ![]() ![]() typo- when Draco woke up his wand was out then he checked for his wand in his pocket |
![]() ![]() Epic and original battle magic/school scenario! Take as long as you need to write; your work is quality and well worth the wait. |
![]() ![]() I don't know how you keeping doing it but you do. Cool to see the Mirror incident integrated so well and Draco trying to figure out in rationalist fashion what the heck is going on the way we did while reading HPMOR. Hope you're having a great weekend! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Interesting take on Wizard chess! I hadn't considered how having chess pieces with personalities could add elements to the game beyond mere amusing backchat. |
![]() ![]() Thanks for the reminder that "mastery takes time." I recently started with a firm that specializes in a different field than what I'm used to and this chapter was just the encouragement I needed. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() "... which had suddenly made that noise again" O_O Is that... a Meta-meter? |
