Never heard of this, but I read the first chapter, and was intrigued. Your fic is beautifully done, making me feel familiar with the characters and easily following the plot. I think I may want to go check out the book or books connected with this. It's good - or, at least you make it seem so. Wouldn't be the first book fanfic I read whose writer was better than the canon author (Cough, cough, Twilight, cough).

Have to admit, when I saw him start conjuring bacon, my first thought was "well, that's lame." That was actually a really effective power; nice job Munchkining it. Also, hilarious.
