I’m ridiculously late with this review, I’m not even sure if you remember this story, but I want to say that I really enjoyed it!
I can tell that you know what you’re talking about when it comes to Tolkien’s world and I give you much applause for it!
If it was possible that Frodo could have met Aragorn and become friends with him when he was a child then I would quite likely accept this story as a head canon. But, alas, I cannot, so I’ll just enjoy it as the spectacular AU that it is!
I found many parts amusing, many adorable (particularly small Sam), and others quite touching.
Thank you for the amount of effort you put into it so that LOTR fans, like myself, can enjoy it

It's 2020 and we are in the midst of the pandemic due to the COVID-19 virus. It's been many years since you posted this story but I am reading it for the first time. My first impression after reading the first chapter was how amazingly prescient you were!

The subject is fascinating, the first chapter was a pleasure to read, mostly because it allowed me to become immersed in a story about Hobbits once again. I find I need something like a dose of good Hobbit stories to make me feel warm and fuzzy during these trying times. I'm eager to delve more into your story to see how it unfolds and how the Hobbits and Aragorn are forced to deal with the illness and their quarantine.

I'm also reminded of Alicia Keyes' new song "Good Job" that I heard just the other day for the first time. It blew me away even before I found out that she had written it a year ago! She thought of it because it fit the times we find ourselves in now. I found that incredible, just like the fact you wrote this 18 years (!) before we were hit with this pandemic.

This was such a pleasure to read! Now I have to go and read everything else you have to offer in the ‘quarantine’ universe!

How bizarre to be reading this story with the world in its current state! I’m looking forward to seeing how this story (and our world’s story) plays out!
