![]() ![]() ![]() Greetings dear author, Even though that story has been finished fifteen years ago, here I am, reading it and enjoying every chapters of it! I have an excuse for being so late though... I was way too young to be able to read it and especially in English, and at the time, I knew nothing about the "Lord of the Rings". That's not the case anymore and with the years, I became a great fan of the movies and books. However, it took me a lot of time to decide to go read fanfiction about it! I was satisfied with what I had in Tolkien's works! But, the relationship between Aragorn and Frodo, pushed me to make the first step and... well, I wished I had done that sooner! I always thought while watching the movies (I know more about them than I know about the books), that Aragorn seemed to be more like a big brother to Frodo. Always caring for him, watching over him and protecting him whenever he needs it. So, your story gave me plenty of that! Sick characters have always been my weakness since others have to take care of them and it can produce some fluffy/sweet moments between them. Here, I was smiling like an idiot everytime Aragorn was at Frodo's side, looking after him. And the way Frodo thinks of him as a dear member of his family, made me so happy and comforted me in my idea of them being spiritual brother. Each character in this, was so lovable and adorable. Especially Sam in the last chapters! Already the greatest friend and support for . And when Aragorn would call Frodo "little one", I would melt like butter under the sun... That's too cute for my poor sensitive heart~ Reading your work was an enjoyable ride. I don't have enough words to describe how much I loved it! And since I saw you've written a lot more stories about the "Lord of the Rings", I'm even more happy to be able to continue my own journey through your writings. Well, enough of me and my nonsense.I wish I could have posted one review for each chapter but I would feel like a stalker if I did so XD I just wanted to tell you how much your story became dear to me in just one day. So sweet, heartwarming and heartbreaking, full of feelings and joyful things! I couldn't ask for a better story to get back on my love for these two boys. I'm sorry if my English was bad or anything. I'm just a little French girl whose trying to convey her feelings for such a wonderful work XD Thank you again for that amazing fiction~ R. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The story was delightful, and I finished it in a sitting. Yes... all twenty chapters. I know it's an old fic (I was only in elementary school when this was written, good dear), but it's a real gem. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think Bilbo took Frodo in as his heir partly to spite the Sackville-Bagginses, as they thought they were going to inherit the place upon Bilbo's death. Not to mention the controversy with the auction when Bilbo came back from his journey. I was curious too, of the details of how Frodo and Bilbo lived the twelve years they were together in Bag End, and this story is doing an excellent job explaining, even just two chapters in. Everyone is in character, even Aragorn with his illness. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hi! I know this is quite an old story, but I just wanted to review because I loved it so much! I think a lot of people portray Aragorn as serious all the time (which, to be fair, he has a lot on his plate lol), so it was nice to read this story! It was very enjoyable, thank you for sharing it with us :D |
![]() ![]() Every time I read this fic it puts a smile on my face. :) Thanks! 3 |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think this must be the third time I have read this story, and I love it more with every visit. It is so beautiful and true to the characters, so full of warmth and love, I think it is one of my favourite LOTR fanfictions of all. Possibly not just limited to LOTR either - just one of my favourite fanfictions of any category. I well up with tears at the wonderful sweetness every time - it's so full of emotion, so well portrayed. I love all of the characters and the relationships as you write them, but I think as an individual especially Sam - he is just perfectly as I imagine a young Sam would be. I really ought to go through and comment chapter by chapter, because there's so much else to say... But for now, this is just brilliant work, and has (again) been a great comfort to me during a stressful week... It is becoming my go-go feel good story when I am down! |
![]() ![]() ![]() “Yes, it’s as I suspected. He’s forgotten all about you.” Bilbo, you absolute potato! I aspire to your level of snark. I enjoyed Aragorn’s letter very much, and now Frodo and Sam are preparing for their first adventure together. |
![]() ![]() ![]() And there’s my little Samwise! A “bit o’sunshine” is exactly what he is, especially when he’s this small. He and Frodo seem to already be as close as brothers. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Gandalf restoring Frodo’s memory of his parents is without a doubt my favorite part of this chapter. My second favorite is Aragorn telling Frodo he is unforgettable, which he needed to hear after spending so long being overlooked at Brandy Hall. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Now I want Aragorn to bake me some troll-shaped cookies! I’m sure they tasted good all the same. |
