Butterfly: not enough energy to have any long range effects past a couple of inches. You would something sensitive to the very slight air pressure variation close to the butterfly to trigger any effects. Also, chaos is not random.

McG has a 10 foot pole jammed up her ass and her head jammed up Albus' ass. Useless bint, being led around by a Machivalian (sp) psychopath in canon

noylj chapter 10 . 4/28
Would you consider some one who leaves a toddler in a basket, on a doorstep, in November, at midnight to be a good man? Would you consider some one who leaves a baby with wpthose that will hate him to be a good man? Would you consider someone who gets reports of child abuse, including from the child, and still forces that child back to abused to be a good man? Would consider someone that permits a grown to abuse and harm students under the abusers care to be a good man?
What does Albus do, while plotting Harry's death, that would be considered good?
Imprisoning Harry in a house of abuse? Imprisoning an innocent man in a house he hates, taking over that man's house, and not letting him see his godson?
May you live under Albus's kind thumb also.

Honestly, it's a pretty weak story.
Hercule is like a standard clichéd lifesaver. Who, in less than six months, caught Peter, freed Sirius, and everything was successfully resolved with the Horcruxes. "Death" at the end is like one big god ex machina.
There is essentially no romance either. Several letters in which there was nothing like that. And all the other interactions between Fleur and Harry are quite forced. The most I saw in them was friends. And that's unlikely.
Want an example of a well-written Harry and Fleur story that starts with letters? Fic "Letters" to help.
Daggerxxx chapter 13 . 12/11/2023
Why shouldn't Sirius accept Dumbledore's apology? Sirius himself chose to sit in Azkaban, and not escape from it much earlier. I think because I believed in my own guilt. After all, it was he who suggested making Peter the keeper of the secret. Well, the dementors tried their best.
Daggerxxx chapter 11 . 12/11/2023
I don't quite understand why Harry is angry with Dumbledore. Does he have any alternative to the Dursleys? In any case, he would live with them, blood amulets or not. He doesn’t yet have a godfather who would invite him to live with him. The scene is pretty pointless.
Daggerxxx chapter 5 . 12/10/2023
Too many of my boyfriends doesn't sound very good. How many Fleur are there now? 16? And she already had too many boyfriends? Those boys I tried to date would have sounded better (and more logical).
Daggerxxx chapter 4 . 12/10/2023
Quite a stupid explanation about house elves. Do you really think that Hermione hasn't read everything she can about them in the Hogwarts library? And then she tried to free them for a whole year, apparently with the desire to destroy them all?
Daggerxxx chapter 2 . 12/10/2023
In fact, Voldemort did not place a curse on his name in the first war. This requires the Ministry of Magic, and he only captured it the second time.
And about housewives. Molly Weasley was the only caricatured housewife in Potter, but that's understandable, she has 7 children.

Glad to know you plan to continue this story beyond this. I enjoyed this take on year 3 and look forward to the next installment. Well done and thanks for sharing!

I’m reading this story for a second time. It’s still great.

I usually fall into the ‘Dumbledore is a villain category’ for three reasons. First, his list of failures is so long that it becomes ridiculous. It goes far beyond an occasional mistake. In normal circumstances it would be easy to chalk it up to stupidity as opposed to malice, but his intelligence is beyond doubt, so that leaves malice.

Second, regardless of the purity of his heart (which I doubt) there is the end result of his actions. Dumbledore is, frankly, an abuser of children or an enabler of abusers of children. The harm he causes is real. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and regardless of his intentions, he (or worse, others) arrives in hell.

Third, Lord Acton’s quote that “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.” is largely on point and describes Dumbledore to a tee.

I ascribe to the theory that Dumbledore is a villain who does not realize he is a villain, as he’s blinded himself with utilitarian philosophy.

Great story.

Every country and every people have bigots. Frequently bigots hide behind virtue to mask their hate of others, and it’s not limited to left or right, black or white. I agree with the author and don’t think it would be limited to magical Britain or America. At least in those countries an open discussion can be had without being lined up against the wall and shot. Sometimes I think people are inherently tribal, and we have a pathological need to draw lines between us and them, which is somewhat depressing.
stevem1 chapter 6 . 7/18/2023
Moody thinking he’ll owe Black an apology for arresting him and not seeing to his trial is hilarious. You don’t make up for 12 years of torture with an apology. Perhaps everyone who was involved in sending Sirius to Azkaban, including Moody and Crouch Sr., can be locked up with Dementors for 12 years? It wouldn’t make things right, but it would balance the scales.
