Not gonna lie I always thought that Harry deep down is happy that the Dementors brought that memory back because he had no memories of his parents and that’s all he wanted... yes it came in a version of his mom begging for Voldemort to spare him but kill her and then her dying but still a memory of love(even if it is depressing)

Finally a fanfic where the adults and not some 13year old kids figure out about Peter or have at least strong theory

Interesting start and I like how you made it so Harry knows they are beautiful and stares for a second but since he is Harry and insecure he looks away immediately lol kinda perfect

I like that Dumbledore is good but flawed. An excellent depiction. But his statement that he had no one to check on Harry is a flat out lie. He can draw on aurors, politicians, etc..as canon has demonstrated. It would be more correct to say that he made no effort to have someone check on Harry, or recruit someone to check on Harry. He’s also remarkably silent as to Arabella Figg. So the pendulum moves away from good but flawed and is closer to criminally negligent.

A couple of chapters back I think you mentioned Fanfics where Dumbledore is evil - I always thought he was evil in canon... An evil scheming old sinner... My feeling was always he would sacrifice babies for the cause and that if he believed you were in the way he would happily kill you, your kids and your dog 'for the greater good'... Keeping Harry in the dark was not something a 'good' person would do... and the whole 'seeing the good in people' is a rod for your own back - some people are just evil for the sake of being evil...

"... I think love at first sight is BS (lust and infatuation, yes, but love?)" I completely agree, Quatermass. After all, how can you truly LOVE someone about whom you know nothing at all? The idea seems quite ridiculous, to me.

I'm a big fan of Harry/Fleur, so I am looking forward to reading your story.

An enjoyable story. I personally find Fleur and Harry pairings at their best when the two are younger like here rather than year 5 and up stories. Gives me time to read about them being friends before being ravenously attracted to one another. Their correspondence through letters was very cute and I wish you could have included more of their letters without ruining the pacing of the story. Speaking of the pacing, I'd say it flow well, going from event to event without overstaying their welcome. The biggest weakness for the story is that as rousing as I find Poirot-esque content, the mystery and excitement of the investigations and revelations is muted by our knowing the story as fanfiction readers. Overall, you handled the "what-if" element of the fanfiction perfectly with your OCs, and it felt natural in the way you brought all the events, the characters, and Harry/Fleur together.

I actually like the flow of the story, the way you managed to incorporate how Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter books usually flow. I like it, keep up the good work.

Well I picked this story on a whim and was pleasantly surprised and very happy with the choice. Well written. Although with all the build up in the beginning I was gonna I expecting more mystery solving and less just breezing through the plot, but as I said earlier I very much enjoyed the story.
Regarding your annotations, there was times I like them and times I hated the them. Using Siri and the spoken screen option I turn all books into “books on tape” and the annotations can get long but it is your story. Thank if that is what you want to include, Rock on. Gonna take a short break from your cannon then come back Later for sequel.
