Heyyooo! Ahh its been quite a while since ive last checked this fic. Over six years later and I’m still around.

its still a wonderful fic and it will always remain one of my all time favorites. i first found this fic when i was a freshman in high school. fast forward several years later and im now a working adult with a bachelors degree

The way that Elise fits in is that she is the negotiator like Obi-Wan and general grievous but general grievous is the world… No more like a rowdy bunch of Men and woman yeah that’s what I think she is like because she can speak with almost every dinosaur there that is not a herbivore that we know of so yeah that’s where I think she fits in

there is only one song that seems to fit for this book that i can listen to forever, Humble and kind by tim mcgraw, no matter where i read it melds with the words and comes as delightful as the charecters themselves; From the dreams that elise has to the reunition of old friends.

If this sounds like a ramble please don't mind it, i love this book with all my heart.

I've got to say, I'm liking Bridges.
Really didn't expect to but he isn't the "All about the money" personality I thought he was and became a very interesting character.

I really hope you're doing well, Skulls, considering how crazy and hard life could already be before Covid hit. It'd be nice to see more of this gift of a fic that has ruined me for any other interpretation of these characters (that's a compliment, I promise!) but also just for you to be well, considering you have already given us 89 chapters to enjoy as you fix the wrong of canon.

I'm glad at least that the last update ends with at least one member of the most unusual pack realizing Elise is home. He will no doubt spread the word quickly. And there's a glimmer of hope of future companionship for Elise in Alexander, and for Fuego finding family with the pack (assuming Rexy and/or Sobek don't kill him), and maybe someday more family for the raptors and/or Elise. Heck, even for the sheepeo's (oreo sheeps), what with Flower following Sobek and maybe meeting the sheep herd so that Blue may never be without her herd of fluffy walking oreo clouds, hehe!

And the humans seem to be doing well, also (even if Owen is getting a deserved dose of teenage rebellion after freaking out on Elise).

Granted, Tacet is not doing so well, but as noted, she's not an easy-fix. I hope she will one day find peace, and specifically, *HER* version of peace, not what anyone else thinks she should find to be peace or happiness.

Humans can be so... run-you-over'y about asserting what's acceptable in their opinion - as seen with how Roth regards Elise's beliefs in the afterlife (or even what constitutes an acceptable name for her own effing sister, like it even fcking matters but especially when the poor girl is dead!) or even Owen as to whether or not Elise so much as talks to boys (who aren't even demonstrating mate-seeking behaviors).

[Honestly, Owen? Would you let anyone deny you life-partner companionship when you felt ready for it? But you feel the right to inflict the pain of loneliness from an unmet need on Elise, rather than preparing her for it someday while stressing perhaps not yet since she's still working on stablizing herself and gaining enough life experience under her metaphorical belt? Don't be a hypocrit!]

I hope Elise is able to connect with her sister eventually, once away from the human arrogance of people with degrees thinking their way is the only right way, and anyone else thinking / wanting differently is abnormal and wrong, when plenty of pure humans wouldn't agree with them on theory or method. And honestly, for all they stress the importance of good human behavior, they have no fcking patience or respect for a traumatized person who needs to be given some agency over her 'safe space' and the freedom to not want to live as they deem 'the right way' to live, by which I don't mean breaking laws or senseless killing. Simply that as an introvert with specific preferences for my sensory environment (for example, I hate certain material's textures and loathe loud noises especially high-pitched ones), the thought of doing shows or living around constant human shrieking and/or construction sounds like h*ll. It's almost worse than endless 24/7 complete silent isolation. So I completely sympathize with Tacet's sensory overwhelm, and the desire to avoid it (especially with her more sensitive senses). No one has asked her what she wants, or even considered it could be different and that it's totally everyday-ordinary healthy to have different ideas of what constitutes happiness based simply on being an individual with one's own opinion. And even really perfectly normal for trauma-victims to have a different measurement for peace (which may or may not change in time). I hope Elise can remember to see creatures (particularly Tacet, but anyone) for what they are, not just what they can be or 'should be' and to meet them there, like a dino would, and not try to fruitlessly impose her rules on them, like an arrogant human would. Because she'll only end up suffering disappointment and maybe even danger if she goes to far into a human pov; humans too often break when others won't bend to their expectations and demands.

Anyway, you've really gotten me invested in this 'verse, and I hope to see the story finished someday. But even if not, thank you for sharing it!

P. S. I like Henry Amber Tater-tot's name, and Elise finding a way to be true to herself as a dino-human in both a dino world and the human one. And also how you've made every character so unique and even at least sorta understandable even if I don't trust or like them (or at least some of the things they do). And btw, the only things I am really upset with this story for is 1. killing Blake, no matter how much life really happens that way sometimes, you did not have to have him out there randomly to die and now not only will he not get to be happy again but Elise won't ever know he forgave her 2. not letting us see Elise receive the pictures from Wu so she could at least have that solace and a better memory of him. But I still heart this story lots.

Roth is an arrogant controlling b*tch who can't accept others having other povs as valid, or not doing what she says when she says (and not 'acknowledging' it as the clearly and only 'right' thing to do / think). Elise is perfectly aware her sister is dead. Her (pretending to be) talking to her spirit is really no different than people going to pay respects at loved ones' graves or praying to their ancestors; it may not be everyone's thing, but it's a common and acceptable coping mechanism for grief. Further, it's not a big fcking deal because Elise isn't refusing to make healthy bonds with living people. And if she (a 6yo, mind you!) is more attached to an irreplacable photo of someone she knew than embryos she doesn't (and who aren't conscious to be knowable in their frozen state), than that's only more proof of her normalicy. And Roth thinks that's unreasonable? Fck her.

On a lighter note, I'd forgotten how much Sobek's despair at Elise's seeming failure as a dino - the future Alpha of the park, everyone, flailing around as a shark escapes her, lmao! - makes me laugh. You really do manage to make everyone (likable or not) their own individual person with distinct motives, traits and pov.

it's always a shame rereading this and getting to the end on with so much still to explore and seemingly no hope of continuing. almost as bad at updating as I am.

Is it continued anywhere
