She could've asked him to give an oath on his magic and that of his family that he'll cast a warming charm that holds from the moment they're put under water till the moment they're brought up, even if the hostages aren't rescued. Then, and only then she'd strip out of her dry suit. Would it be worth it, just to strip another pureblood line of their magic? Waitwaitwait. Did those merpeople honour Harry by shooting their crossbows "in the air" underwater after the merchief ordered them to "fire"? Like all projectile weapons, crossbows are not overly efficient under water, there is definitely no air to shoot into, and they possibly don't even know what fire is, and even above water the command "fire" was only used after firearms were well established. Crossbows were still widely in use by that time, but you would have to HAVE access to firearms for that command to make sense. And underwater muskets don't exist. |
