So I binged everything in around a week and honestly, Midna leaving killed me. Luckily, you stated that there was a sequel in the works, which I just binged this morning. I'm not gonna lie, being as excited for Link to find Midna as I was, I didn't expect, nor did I particularly appreciate, the story being centered around someone I didn't know anything about.

All I wanted was for Midna and Link to somehow reunite- I didn't care about anything else. But now, I care about Ren and his relationship with Emeline and his troubled relationship with Link. This journey was excellently set, and I am excited to see where it goes.

I loved this chapter. I always was a sucker for whump, and you definitely delivered here.

This chapter ripped my heart out! I was so terrified that by the middle I was convinced this was a major turning point in the story. Thank god I was proven wrong. Of course, the revelation that the Temple of Time is the real location of the portal is important, but it's not Ren dies important. Okay, let's try to put these jumbled thoughts into a real review, shall we.
The chapter started off with a heart stopping introduction, with Emeline yelling the danger Ren was in. I was on edge from the very beginning, and it turned into the perfect emotional lead to the scene between Viscen and Link. I loved that scene. It was purely sadistic and absolutely revolting. But it was also beautiful. The king's fascination and disgust was, once again, the perfect tell to his maddness. That man has got some issues. But, the true star of the scene, scars! Link's scars, and his story, really took the forefront. With every recollection I was back in WMaH, I was feeling the worry, the pain, the stakes that came with every new wound. I love how you essentially worked through the memory of WMaH using the scars, going from smaller to larger and ending on the largest of all. Once again, Viscen is being compared to Ganondorf and falling hilariously short. Its such a good technique, I'm really glad to be seeing it in this chapter as well. I'm a sucker for remembering, so this scene really hit it home with me. I'm probably going to re-read WMaH for the millionth time after this.
Ren should not be allowed to get hurt. The fear and anxeity I felt as soon as he was grabbed by Viscen was palpable. Your descriptions really makes everything absolutely terrifying, so good job on that. I audibly gasped, immediately burst into tears, and had to look elsewhere for a good minute or two when that knife hit Ren. The dialogue following that was filled with such anger and anguish, it was beautifully written. I'm gping to be honest though, I was so torn up over Ren's safety the bit directly after is sort of a blur. Viscen getting choked out was very nice, though. He talks incessantly about what he deserves, I hope that he truly gets it soon.
Link's conversation with Ren as he lay on the floor quite literally bleeding out tore at my heart. It was so.. raw. You write scenes of that nature so well, and so realisticly. Ren's terror and Link's instruction to keep his eyes on him was just.. perfect. It was perfect, and exactly what that moment needed. That terror is of a special kind, and I really appreciate your care to portray that. It also gave a glimpse into Link's caring (fatherly, one could say) side. His softer sides aren't seen that much anymore, its refreshing to be reminded of the man we all came to love over the course of WMaH. I could talk endlessly about that scene, but I'll try not to ramble too much.
Thank you so much for providing some relief at the end of this chapter. There is hope, and that hope feels so good after all the despair. I'm excited at the idea of returning to the Temple of Time. In my opinion, it was the most compelling dungeon in Twilight Princess. I can't wait to see Ren's interactions with it- and the golden wolf! I'm just so excited about everything this is leading up to! I can't wait to read more.

Another beautiful chapter! I have so many thoughts that might come out as a jumbled mess, most of which are praise. I love the descriptions of Emeline's ability and presence. It can be difficult to describe a thought process or image that doesn't actually exist, but you've done an amazing job. The tactile description of the feelings and emotions helps the reader to 'see' what she does in an unexpected way. Color is very important to this vision, and I love how you've been able to draw those colors together. It reminds me of when, in Twilight Princess, you play as wolf Link looking at the whisps of people in the Twilight. The idea that in essence, people are feelings and emotions and intentions is a wonderful one, and drawing that through Emeline is brilliant. Also her and Ren's little innocent romance is adorable.
Poor Link really has been through a lot, huh? The description of when Vincen is digging into his hand made me physically uncomfortable, and that's a good thing! Your use of descriptors there was just right. Just enough to make me squirm and want to look away (even though I wasn't physically seeing anything, isn't that cool?), but not so much that it crossed over into excess. The scene as a whole also really magnified Vincen's maddness in an interesting way. His calm in contrast to his anger shows his dynamic. Where Ganondorf was just pain evil, he's still holding onto some kind of demented humanity. I really liked the comparison to Ganon, also. It brought that idea to the reader's mind.
Those are the two things that stuck out the most to me in this chapter. As always, your characterization for everyone is on point. I had a good laugh over pretty much every bit of Ashei's dialogue. She's such a fun character, and paired with Shad she just shines. I'm so excited to see where this is going, with the prophecy and the possibility of rescue from Midna. Its so gripping! Here's to hoping Link makes it out of this at least somewhat intact.

The last time I read through this was when ch 10 was the last you had posted. I was already in love with this story and the characters you’ve created after my first read through. After I saw that you had posted a couple more chapters, I decided to reread the first story and then this one. I am STILL in love with everything about this!
