Reviews for When Heroes Fall |

![]() ![]() ![]() Oh no! Ten has been tricked by the fake evil king guy (all I can remember is Midna calling him Bison haha!). Love this so far. I’ve been on the edge of my seat for the past 4-5 days reading this fic and the one before it. Amazing. I am hoping that Midna and Link can forgive each other and that Ren can *eventually* find some peace with his dad. Based on how things have progressed it seems like that may be a long time coming yet. I wonder if there will be a real smack down between Link and the “King” at the end of all this? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have read all of the story that came before this one, and I am in the midst of reading this. It’s a diamond, a complex one of a kind novel-interpretation that’s grown into a masterpiece. I love it. I think it’s great how you incorporate realistic motifs into the story (mental illness, injuries, growing up, corruption and evil, love of all kinds, etc). Those things add so much depth and maturity to your writing. Your style is readable and concise. I can imagine scenes as if I am watching a movie. I haven’t actually been on in quite some time. I came back looking for a good Legend of Zelda fan fiction and this is IT! I am hopeful that you might update soon. This is probably the best fan fiction work I’ve ever read. |

![]() ![]() ![]() So many burning questions re-enterend my head as I read this chapter, first and foremost being: what exactly lies in these two's futures. Does this love they once shared for a shot time rekindle, or does it become more of a story of both of them coming to terms with the impossibly difficult pain they both endured and once buried. To tell the truth, the ladder choice seems most satisfying to me. I enjoy this idea of Link and Midna once again mere seconds away from parting ways foreverMidna returns to her duties as queen of the twilight, and perhaps Link finds a new lady-love to raise his son; to give him the normal life Link feels he's never had. Either way, This duo saga you've made is truly something special, and I am truly excited to see where this goes. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was about to go to sleep, but I saw this notification and decided that it had been a while since I last read a fanfic (especially this one), so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. For starters, I'm glad we get more content consisting solely of Link and Midna interacting. I especially appreciate how they still have their problems that they need to work out, even after they've reunited. I have noticed that a lot of fics tend to portray character reunions as something that will have no problems at all heading into the future, which is not only unrealistic but also a little anti-climactic. Your portrayal of their relationship is interesting to me, because they both love each other deep down, but must confront their pasts and regrets if they want to truly reunite. I'm sure running away from it all together must seem like a pretty appealing option to the both of them now, but they're both too good of people to do that. At the same time, their banter reminds me of What Makes A Hero, and the great interactions they had in that little story as well. It's a complicated mix. Seeing Yeto and Yeta is always fun, and I especially enjoy the way you write them. It sometimes seems like these characters would say the lines they have in this fic in Twilight Princess, which is something I appreciate. Although Yeto and Yeta are relatively simple characters when compared to the rest of the cast, I applaud your faithfulness in their dialogue and actions. Seeing Link even more reluctant to step into the role of the hero (but still unwilling to abandon it) is a concept I adore, and I think it's really intriguing how he operates. He reminds me of Amir in The Kite Runner, who is driven by the desire for personal redemption more so than the desire to be the hero of the story. Stories where the "protagonist" of the story must fight a personal battle is far more interesting to me than just action, which is why I enjoy reading your stories so much. All in all, I really enjoyed this chapter. I'm curious to see how the twist at the end with Midna losing her powers will affect her. Will she be like her imp form, where she can do limited magic but nothing close to her usual, or does she really mean that all of her magic is gone and she's defenseless (except for her little Hero of course)? Either way, I eagerly await your next chapter. Cheers! |
