Reviews for Joseph Joestar: Hamon Hunter |

![]() ![]() ![]() Another chapter, still loving this. But also more nitpicks to make: 1. Why the gratuitous Japanese? I know it's the meme and all, but it's weird for Joseph to be shouting "NANI!" and quoting Stroheim as yelling "SEKAIICHI!" when he's a British immigrant to America and Stroheim's German. It doesn't really add anything, so you'd be better off just translating it to "WHAT!" and "GREATEST IN THE WORLD!" 2. Also, technically German science is still the greatest in the world, because of the "world" part. Not even a nitpick, just thought it was kind of funny to mention. 3. In addition to being a weird thing to just casually mention, it's also a little OoC for Ruby to mention how she got moved ahead two years, considering that in canon she was insecure about it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Dude, thank you so much for making this. I never realized how much this needed to exist until now. That said, two minor nitpicks: 1. Joseph is 18, not 17. I get why you'd change that, but if Ozpin's willing to accept a promising student 2 years early, he'd probably do the same for one that's a year late. It's probably happened at least once in Beacon's history, so there isn't really a need. 2. Shouldn't the Range of Ruby's Semblance be E instead of A? Range is how far away the Stand can be from its owner, but Ruby's Semblance's effect is centered around Ruby herself, so just like Stands that give their owner powers and have no form of their own, it should be an E. Whereas Semblances with an effect that reaches out, like Pyrrha's Polarity and Weiss's Glyphs would have higher rankings. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That whole scene with jojo revealing his weapon was very good. Lol |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like the story so far but I just thought I would give you a little info. The thugs from the pilot episode working for Torchwick actual are on loan to him from a minor gangster named Junior who owns a nightclub. They were not White Fang members. If you watch the 'Yellow' trailer that showed Yang for the first time you will see her tearing up Junior's club slightly before Ruby's encounter with Torchwick as Torchwick is actually leaving with them while Yang enters the club. This was confirmed to have happened as the second season Yang pays another visit to the club while looking for information on Torchwick. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh man I knew I was going to like this, when I read Joseph was going to be the star here! I don't know much about RWBY other than its this really popular Web Series. Also was that Dio at the end?! Does he already have his Stand, The World? Are Stands going to happen here? Will Joseph get stabbed in his sexy hand? Will Jotaro appear in the far future? Will Cars crash land on Remnant in sometime? So many questions, so little time... Going to check out the rest! See Ya! |
![]() ![]() ![]() when I read this I had nothing but the English dub of Joseph Joestar |
![]() ![]() ![]() so a preview of Joseph's stand, will it still be hermit purple which he developed at an advanced age and with a different outlook on life, or more in line with the other JoJo protragonists of being a short range high powered stand? Possibly with an interesting tweeeest. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well, this spider-Grimm encounter looks like it's going to be interesting. It's good to see some of Joseph's fighting style in action here. There's a few things with this chapter though. When I first read through your chapter, some of the earlier passages felt a bit bulky, though I can't quite explain what the issue is. Some phrases just seem off to me, like "he suddenly face planted into the ground" or "the part of the forest he ended up in was far more dense..." They're not incorrect per say, but I probably wouldn't have described it that way. Also, at one point you say "When Joseph took a better look around, he realized that white string wasn't the only one in the area." It's a bit unclear what you mean here, and I think you should probably correct this specific sentence for clarity. There's also a few minor grammatical mistakes here and there, but they're mostly minor. Also, I'm not sure if Grimm bleed. I haven't done a recent RWBY lore check, but I don't remember them leaving much blood, cause usually they're supposed to disintegrate after some time. I usually criticize people for putting stat charts/character bios at the end of the story, but here the card for the Tarantella seems oddly appropriate. The name's decent too. I don't remember if I had anything else to say about this chapter, but for some reason I got the feeling while reading this that one of Dio's agents planted the webbing, before you actually showed the Grimm. Will look forward to the next chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I wonder, will Jojo's team be built similar to Jotaro's team? With members being former agents of DIO? Anyway, great chapter as always, I'm hype for the next installment. Keep goin and stay golden |
![]() ![]() ![]() I loved the part when Joseph was falling down the tree, especially the sexy hand bit! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Saturday August 15, 2015. Awesome and hilarious chapter. I loved the AntFish abridged references. I can't wait to see what Dio has planned. Ah yes, the Joestar family 's secret technique. When the going gets tough… run like hell and come up with another plan. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sooo, is Dio gonna have his stand? Or would that make him too OP? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Damn, Joseph is just KILLING it right now. The flair, the thrusting into danger, and the fact that I honestly have no idea who he'll be paired with has me excited to see what'll come next. Plus with Dio on the horizon, I wonder what'll come. Will Dio have 'Za Warudo' or will he be as he was in the first series. Either way I'm hype for all the posing, action, and flamboyant tendencies that are sure to come from JOJO! Keep goin and stay golden |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah the dub is awesome. When Kars does the leg guitar in the dub, it's an elegtric guitar. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh god, Numbah 1 is Joseph Joestar? Wat? Anyway, hooray for plot-ish stuff! Dream sequence is unusually vivid, but I can't complain. Looking good as usual. Looking forward to the next chapter. |
