Returned to it after 5 years or such.
Was still quite good till the Grand Combat. I agree with the author that such are usually quite bad in the genre, but I think the author's diagnosis as for the reason was not exactly right, and her own work suffered for it. It's not so much power inflation that makes it terrible, as the Comics Logic - where authors look for that Beautiful Picture then they think about how a story should develop, rather than for how it would develop naturally. The whole thing with Ze Brothers was just as bad as in canon - which was a pity as Ms Evil have previously shown herself to be an educated and intelligent person. ;(( And it was quite anvilicious as well. Both in bad contrast with the previous scene when she first met the goddess... It took a real effort to not just skip a whole thing.
This chapter feels a bit better, though still not on par with earlier parts. It also reminded me of a thing I noted earlier: the author has a bit strange - though sadly quite common - view of what a feudal society was. :( Namely, that it was some sort of unilateral tyranny or something. While she's right that there were a number of horrifying punishments for "treason", that was exactly for a reason that powers-that-be were never completely secure from underlings pulling some checks-and-balances on their ass. ;) I like to cite Spanish grandees swearing to their king as a good illustration. It goes like this: "We, who are not any worse than you, swear to you, who are in no way better than us, that if you will help us against our enemies and uphold our ancient rights, we will serve you faithfully. And if not - than not. " %)) And while Japanese medieval society had a number of differences, it still had lots of striking similarities to European or Chinese ones. Including "a right to rebel" which was never completely erased from the society 's consciousness. So, if Itachi and Co carried an actual feudal world-view, he would be in a bind for more than emotional reasons. In China, it was actually considered that he _had_ to side with his father against his liege lords. In Japanese version, he had a way out through ritually killing himself outside the door of whoever he felt responsible for the whole mess - which would bring a loss of face and weaken their position... Sorry for a rant, this is another thing I would like to see in a fanfiction about that case - but have no hope that I ever will. ;)
All in all, still one of the best fics in the fandom - but suffered seriously in the last chapters . Hope the author will manage to recover the final. ;))

Замечательная работа. Очень глубокий психологизм и очень интересная героиня. Очень много о том, как канон ощущался бы без фильтра-Наруто. И при этом намного более детализированно-реалистично, чем канон. Прописанный личностный рост героини, развитие в силе без заброшенной социальной линии. И абсолютно оригинальный взгляд на историю Кагуи, очень новый сюжетный ход с миром духов. Есть ощущение заверщенности: красивая любовная линия, закрыты линии второстепенных персонажей. Чудесная история, спасибо пвтору за неё.

Dead serious meets hilarious in this chapter and the result was amazing, hahaha. I had forgotten how much I laughed the first time I read it.

Re-reading your work always makes me smile. After such an epic arc, this chapter feels like things are falling into place. I don't know if it's the way you build your characters in this story or the way you truly try to understand the original characters' personalities and desires, but it feels so real with waifu Itachi and teachers Naruto and Hinata. I'm so happy you're still active in the platform, thanks for sharing!

Oh my god. Ive loved this story for a long time, I re-read every now and then. But this last chapter, with Jiraiya?!

I remember how much he bothered me when i first read/watched Naruto, but it was always laughed off. I’d forgotten how wrong he was, how disturbing it was that everyone just allowed it. Thank you, like really truly, thank you. Im getting teary eyed. I already thought this was a fantastic story and you were a fantastic author, but this…now i know youre a fantastic human being.

I loved the story enough that I finished it in two days but there was a promised final battle with "Zetsu" that never happened. Disappointing. Very good nonetheless.

I will literally wait for an eternity for just one more chapter from you. I love this f'n story.

And finally at long last Jiriaya is brought to justice!
This is honestly one of the best Naruto fanfic I have ever read. I could spend an hour writing an entire essay going into all the things I liked about this story but right now I am waaaay to tired to do that. I have been reading this for like 3 hours straight. I’ve also finished this in only 3 days so at this point I just want to rest and process what I just read. I know that this isn’t the last chapter but the next is probably going to take months to write so might as well have said everything now.
Thank you for writing a great story, probably the best BAMF Sakura story I’ve ever read.

Shikaku as the Sixth hokage is very… out there, he definitely has the intelligence and social skills for the job, but power wise, he will probably be the weakest Kage, possibly ever in any village.
