Guest chapter 4 . 11/8 Oh my goodness, now THIS is a story! THIS is what all fanfics should be, and all published books, too! Wow you are an amazing writer! I hope you get published one day if you haven’t already. You have more talent than a great many published authors. Thank you for sharing your incredible gifts with the world (for free, even!), and may God bless you and your family! :) |
Haarajot chapter 4 . 10/29/2023 What a wonderful, well-told story! |
Guest chapter 4 . 10/11/2023 You are truly a master storyteller and this is one of my favorites of what you have written! |
Guest chapter 4 . 4/16/2023 333 |
Guest chapter 4 . 3/26/2023 The work of your hands is both enthralling and nuanced. If long you have laboured, then you have not laboured in vain if your intent was to delight an audience wearied by stories sullied by modern slang. :) |
Lilly Talons chapter 1 . 1/11/2022 Still one of my favorites, always interesting to see aragorn from other peoples perspective |
Mary chapter 4 . 8/15/2021 so lovely. i'm way past my bed time but it was very worth it |
Lilly Talons chapter 4 . 5/31/2021 I always like rereading this one, butterbur and Aragorn are written perfectly. I love seeing a little bit more of Aragorn as a ranger |
Guest chapter 4 . 2/11/2019 Now that was a proper story. Thank you. |
Imogene Hawthorne chapter 4 . 1/13/2019 Wonderful! |
Elwaith chapter 4 . 11/3/2018 Aww Barli 3 I love how he grew into a decent man and innkeeper. Probably would be placed among the finest of hospitality in places far grander than Bree. I love the ending to Aragorn's story as well, even if the idea of never speaking against an unjust accusation if it means going against the commander is pretty concerning in my opinion. All it would take is an unscrupulous commander, or one who is willing to let someone else take the fall for his error, and Aragorn would be stuck in the prison. Glad it worked out and the commander wasn't like that. Of course it would be something like this that raises Thorongil in the King's eyes and explains why he had the Kings favor when he went to Gondor in The Eagle on the Ramparts. |
Ammodytus chapter 3 . 9/12/2018 I’m sure Strider was so very amused by all this. lol |
Ammodytus chapter 4 . 9/12/2018 Superb storytelling! |
GirlFromNorth chapter 4 . 12/8/2017 What a wonderful story! Interesting writing technique, what with telling a story within the story (and keeping said story part of a dialogue!). For that matter, I adored both stories; the one with Barliman and Aragorn, and the one with Thorongil and Theoden. Again, marvelous work, thank you very much for writing it! :) |
I'm Hermes chapter 4 . 8/17/2017 That was a heart-warming end! For all Barliman's flaws, he has a good heart and a fair mind. Thank you for this story! I loved it! |
