I'm so happy that Dwalin apologized. It made me sad they weren't talking. I loved when Dwalin told Liv that she was in his heart. Aw! I honestly felt my heart skip a beat.

I was wondering, did you have any particular songs in mind for what Dwalin played - both the dirge and the love song? Just curious. I often find it a bit distracting when writers put modern songs in a story, but I enjoyed your hint to what was said without actually penning in the words. Nice.

Great chapter and dang it girl, you got to me AGAIN with all that talk of Kili and Fili and how they were trained. I am glad that Dwalin is getting along with Askel now. Look at it as training for when you have your own dwarflings, Dwalin!

Dwalin, that was exactly what I hoped you would do, go to Askel, make nice and then she would find out and love him again. But I have to say, you did a fine job of going above and beyond in that, you are such a sweet dwarf.
Then you apology was perfect. Even i would have had a hard time not forgiving you - and I can be a hard sell. ha ha.

BUT DANG IT, you got me all teary eyed again when you talked about Kili and how much he reminded Dwalin of Askel. It just kills me to think how broken up about it he is...because I am too!

Poetry about how much a dwarf admires his ax? Wow...would have loved to hear THAT. ha ha.

interesting and enjoyable to read as always

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I adore this story. I've always loved dwalin, and thought he was an underrated character (the way he looks away when Fili dies breaks my heart every time) so this story is my idea of heaven. I also adore Lìv, which makes me happy, because I often struggle with OCs; the story itself is also well written, so for me it's like the holy trinity of fanfiction writing! ;)

Absolutely cannot wait for more!

First I want to say I don't normally read stories without our favorite Durin sons (Thorin, Fili, and Kili) especially when one of the other charactors is OC. But the quality of your writing and story telling drew me right in. Of course I have enjoyed the frequent references to the fallen heirs too :) I really like how in the last chapter Dwalin says recklessness kills warriors...(like it killed Kili and Fili) I love his love for them and Thorin. You're a great writer and you've created a great story. Good job!

I really like the idea that Dwalin just never went down to the tombs before. Its just fits along with the idea that he would have spoken of his privilege to know them. So sad and perfect a fit with that character. Along with him being so heartrendingly stubborn it almost hurts to read.
I'm glad to see Dwalin getting some love and attention with this story. :) Now hopefully he's using that stubborn to fix his mess soon.

Dang woman! you made me cry with all of Dwalin's reflection on Thorin, Fili and Kili. When he started to quote Thorin, I lost it. Oh, and the trip to their tombs. Yep, you are one evil woman for sure!

Dwalin's fight and the way that soldier tried to rattle him was funny. Nice fight scene too by the way.

Poor kids, they were only checking things out, don't be so hard on them Dwalin. I think you should go and train them yourself now and be a daddy to them so Liv will like you again.

Wow, that whole thing about touching a woman was way out of line, Dwalin, you deserve the silent treatment for THAT one. (excellent writing though - you are capturing our darling dwarf perfectly) I can't wait to see how he makes it up to her and regains her good favor.

Loved how he only waited five minutes before he went after her. He is so in love it is comical.

And I think THIS is why I normally only read stories where Thorin, Fili and Kili lived...I hate being sad...but so far you are making it worth my tears. Keep writing!
