I wouldn't retcon the past as it would mess up the Excalibur arc a whole lot if you suddenly undo Issei's faith and kill god considering those were semi important and very important plot points. Just because you don't have plans for them doesn't mean you need to do anything with them either. Could always just clarify that the body died but spirit still lives or something.

Prior to this chapter I think you've been doing a poor job with the harem falling into the canon path. Rias is acting like main again when she has no business being main, I get the clarification of him being her piece, but especially if she interferes with Koneko/Issei which you have identified as the main pairing, it makes her come across as a super selfish child.

Also, I don't really know why it feels like this, but it seems like you are scaling down Issei's power prior to each arc then scaling it up for a fight but not as high as it could go. Seems like plot convenience. Hopefully you keep things on an upwards trajectory at this point because it seemed like you just kept nerfing Issei right before major battles (riser, kokabiel, and vali) only for him to appear a lot stronger afterwards or just prior with no good explanation.

Again, need to circle back to this, but you need to flesh Issei/Koneko out more as even though he is a Nekomata it doesn't feel like she is or should be a main. You will need to starting powering up Koneko soon too as if Issei helps her with her hang-ups and she gets Nekoshou training she has no buisness still being the weakest attacker in Rias' peerage.

Also, where is Irina? For a number 2 she isn't around at all.

6. Irina

Notice what that is? It is canon progression at this point. You basically have to flip the list almost, or just shuffle the bottom two to the top and switch a few others around.
