Honestly, I don't feel it. Luke and mara. Their realtionship came out of nowhere, and Luke was sleeping with Brie and yet, apparently, he liked Mara from the start and stayed for her.
You wrote Han and Luke's relationship from the previous story better. Honestly, i'm more inclined to ship those two in your stories than Luke x Mara. Felt more genuine.
And how did Luke from the previous story, the one who couldn't stand to be touched at all, end up having casual sex with several women here? Sextouch. It's ridiculous.
But the glaring flaw of this story is palpatine's return. He comes back and we're back at the beginning of your prequel. Put me off immediately. It's one of the many reasons the cannon sequels failed. No one wants the same villain over and over again. Vader died for no reason here, he achieved nothing. At least in cannon, they had a few years of ''peace''.
I couldn't bring myself to read the whole of this second part, but the ending is pretty much the same as before-only it's Mara who leaves instead of Luke this time.

This series is one of the best things I've read ever but I just have to say I have to drop it here. This addiction and constant abuse already disgusted me in the first story, but it ended well and I really thought Luke would find some happiness and get rid of the addiction and happy end and all that. I'll just pretend that was what really happened. Amazing work.

I don’t normally do this, but I read both stories from start to finish. I have to say, I was quite hooked and engaged with both stories, although personally, the first one is my favourite.

I just now finished reading the second story. I know it’s been several years and life can take precedence over fun hobbies and avocations like this, but I would love to read the final sequel that you promised.

I hope you find the time to finish it, assuming you’re still here with us. In my opinion and perhaps many others here, these are some of my favourite Dark Luke AU fanfics that involve Mara.

I also love how you did not take the predicable route by bringing them together, like so many other fanfics do. I like how you drove a knife between their already strained relationship so they can work things out in the still pending third one.

Look, here’s what I think: do what you will, but I would love to see this magnificent dark series completed, if you could.

Excellent plot. It is well thought out and written. I love how you hide nothing of the POV character's thoughts from the reader. I cannot wait until you post the third one.

Any word on the 3rd book? Are you still writing, or have you moved on?

Just finished rereading both this and your Son of Suns trilogy, and they both amaze me every time. I tried reading some official Star Wars novels and I couldn’t finish them because they don’t come anywhere close to the masterpieces that are your stories. Best Star Wars content I’ve ever read, I truly hope you finish the empire's son trilogy soon because I can’t wait to read it. Thank you!

I really like this story and its prequel. They are awesome, even if Luke is (understandablya whiny brat.

Excellent story. Read this one right after I finished your Son of Suns story which was also fantastic. Hope you're still writing and I'd love to see the third part of Empire's Son someday.
