|Reviews for Two for Joy|
| all forms of fluff chapter 40 . 4/21
I think I am going to stop reading this series right here. Its not that the story isn't interesting, or that your telling it badly. Its actually quite interesting to read, however it dosn't really have that 'these are the Buffy characters we all know and love' feel to it. The two main characters are the case in point. Buffy just dosn't have that hard edge or sharp wit, or even simular attatude she had during the series. Granted this story started a year after her being dead the second time and your Buffy dose have a bit of season six clinging to her but its her interactions with Spike that just don't mesh in my head. Spike is another can of worms all together This story's Spike just ... Isn't. There is no snark there is no laughter, there is no Spike. Even in the show's seventh season he didn't take a whole year to get back to who he was before he had the soul. Now that the baby is born and the couple are of to Mayy 'ol, never really resolving any of the problems there were behind them, this story just dosn't seem likes its about the Buffy universe. So while it was interesting to read I am no longer interested in how it ends.
Reguardless of how I feel about this story's content the actuall telling of it was rather well done. The first person prospective for each chapter is brilliantly done. The original character were almost belivable, and the plot devices you used were well played. All in all its not a bad story. Thank you for sharing it with us.

And so it ends.
Wow, it might not be a resolution, but it's at least a relaxation, and it lets me realise how wonderful a plotter you are to hold these stories together so strongly and always leave me wanting more. Thanks again. I know this series represents so much effort and time writing, and I for one really appreciate it. :D

Wow, your detail of the labour was amazing, and seeing it from Spike's eyes made it just that more so. I love the little descriptions you give us of the physical things he's doing to keep Buffy on side, and of the gentle jokes. It's just so tragic, especially at the end with his happiness that the Initiative are after them yet again. I was waiting for that to happen, but still... wow. Going to read the last chapter now. :D

Seeing this from Xander's perspective somehow gave this a bit of a lighter feeling that was very needed. It's good to see everyone safe, and my respect for Dr Chan's character has grown even further. I really love how you've bypassed the black and white divide much further than canon. It gives your world such a unique flavour. :)

Oh... so incredible. I really felt the tension of choice at the moment where Spike looked back to see Riley. And with the labour starting... that has to be one of the most hair raising, suspense-filed escapes I've seen even if it only took place in one short chapter and they only met resistance at the end. Great work. :D

*swoons for your awesome writing*.
I have to say, that this development is just so exciting I can't *not* say anything special about it. :D I think this chapter bears all the hallmarks of your strengths and talents - you've shown us amazing but believable character growth once more, character interaction, great plot development, and such a feeling of togetherness in the Scoobies that it's incredible. :)

Aargh! Jameson is annoying as well, what with his impersonality and talks about 'subjects'. Gah, it frustrates me and makes me rattle with emotion, and again I have to credit that to your enthralling writing. Dr Chan is so much nicer and soothing, I can almost feel myself, let alone Buffy, feeling more relaxed when you write her. Heh.

Ugh... you're right. The horrible thing about this is the invasion of privacy more than anything. At least it's a little better than 'spawn', but after everything else, it's still not better by much. I'm just glad that Buffy and Spike are happy, together, and that, thanks to your writing, the story remains as captivating as ever. :D

Ooh, I like Anya's point of view in this one, it was good to see, albeit saddening that she still feels on the outside. It's nice that she recognises Xander's attachment to Willow and Buffy without feeling as threatened anymore. The return of Rebecca and Jacob and further explanation of the magic sink demons was also very interesting. Can't wait to see more!

Ah, and it's explained. I can understand how it might be better in the long run, but of course it still hurts. Still, seeing everything from Riley's perspective in this one was very interesting. It's good to know that he's been busy in a non-evil way. And the information on Dawson... I can't wait to see where you go with that. Very interesting. :)
| Shadowhawke chapter 31 . 12/2/2008
Oh geez... another crazy chapter of awesomeness. I'm so glad to see at last that Dawson gets a little bit back of what she's been doling out, I just wish there was so much more. And this part with Riley worries me. Can't wait to read more though _. Even throughout the rapidity of the action, you've still managed to ive us such essential glimpses of character. It's incredible. :D

Spawn... geez, I want Dawson to die painfully. Very, very painfully. And I love that you can make me feel this way, that you can weave such a strong and heady world for me with your words. And now that my vision is clearing of hate slightly, I want to tell you that I love your perspective on Willow this time - she really does seem a little back to her old and gentle self while also still being strong. Her thoughts on the nature of the Scooby gang, everyone's support, as well as Dawn/Zara were just so sweet and heartening that I think it will be what will buoy me through this horror that is the bloody Initiative.
| Shadowhawke chapter 29 . 12/2/2008
Wow... I liked the nice, happy feel of the baby and the shopping... and then WHAM! Dawson's back. That rather effectively threw some cold over me, and I think it's testimony to your great writing that it had such an effect. :D
| Shadowhawke chapter 28 . 12/2/2008
Oh, it's good to know Riley's loyalty... it's ironic that first his obsession with Buffy was a negative point, but now it's really working for the Scoobies. Although I get the feeling that he'll never get over his hatred with Spike, at least he loves his ideal of Buffy enough to protect her. :)
And I have to say, the cloning idea is really scary .
| Shadowhawke chapter 27 . 12/2/2008
Oh, it was good to see the two so happy again, even while there's still so much danger. A ather aptly named chapter there, I must say, but then all of the titles for your chapters have been incredibly apt. :D I like the look of this new big bad too - the Initiative. Calling them Defenders of Humanity seems so wrong, but I know that's the point too. Regardless of whatever they're called though, what you've crafted is amazing. :D
