Reviews for In My Hands
UnStabler chapter 1 . 4/12/2009
I LOVE this novelization! Seriously, it's the only one I've been able to stand to read all the way through. I know you wrote this a whooping six years ago, but I just started playing Ocarina of Time again, and it got me interested in finding some fic. Love the bit with Sheik about Link being Zelda's hero- just the right amount of "aw!" and humor. If you'd be interested in finishing it, I'd be happy to beta for you, or even help co-write.

I've stumbled upon this story and I couldn't be happier that I have. I've favorited it and I eagerly look forward to the next chapter! My only caution is that you avoid overuse of words such as "curses", "stupidity" and others. Overuse of words lessens their impact. BTW, I've seen that you've mentioned you love of Phantom of the Opera several times. It just so happens that I too am a fan, and I've written a few oneshots about the Phantom. I hope to see some more chapters added to "In My Hands" soon!

Where's the next chapter! I just read number ten. Where the HELL is the next chapter! It's very entertaining.

Navi's great. Superb.
Lord Darth Yoda chapter 10 . 2/27/2006
A great story, and I found myself chuckling several times during it. I love the interactions you've created, from Link's opinions on various things to his conversations with Sheik and Navi. I have to say, not many author's give Navi a good personality, but you do it wonderfully. I hope you update soon, cause I wanna see how Link gets out this mess.
Maloire chapter 1 . 6/27/2005
Hm, the tone reminds me of Shakespeare :) The self-doubt and then rebuking and ranting, then a sudden moment of assertion... heheh! Not really a bad thing!

Some deep speculating. Kind of hits on the "Link has no voice" thing that the game brings out. Too bad Navi gets to pick up on the silence, with her "HEY!" etcetc...

Glad you popped up on fengs-shui! I'll have to finish reading this soon!

I like the comment about Ruto being... well, Ruto. "I know I have to, because it is not an option to stop." Duty, wonderful ;)

Anyway, here's something that might need double checking:

"I must continue to remember that on my shoulders [rested] the world"

~ "rests"? In some parts it felt like the tenses were shifting funnily...? *shrug*
Greki chapter 10 . 6/10/2005

I was always more along the lines of a LinkxZelda pairing myself. Of course, Link is mine, so it's just too bad for Zelda.
Link fan chapter 8 . 11/29/2004
*ahem* Nice former chapter name. Link is 15. I shall now keep reading and reviewing like the good little almost thirteen year old that I am. (ha ha ha).
link fan chapter 7 . 11/29/2004
I love the rain! It's been raining here in St. Louis almost constantly and I get to walk home in it.
link fan chapter 5 . 11/29/2004
I love portraying Link and Navi! I haven't put any of my stories on Fanfiction yet, but it's still so fun! Yay.
link fan chapter 4 . 11/29/2004
He's MY Link! All mine! I'm really enjoying this fic!
Split Infinitive chapter 1 . 7/24/2004
I've been re-reading this inbetween writing, being bored and, strangely enough, being busy, too. I think, though, this story does deserve to go under 's new 'Highly Recommended' feature...so here goes!

Peace

I like this. Navi and Link's relationship is one of the most interesting ones in the game, and you've got a fun take on it. The only criticism I would have to make is that Link's language sometimes gets a bit too lofty for a guy who (despite outward appearances) is really still a ten-year-old. It's good in the narration, because of course he's writing this when he's older, and when he's being sarcastic ("Well, then, O Navi the Intelligent who is evidently capable of reading the Hero of Time's mind, I beg thee to apply thy knowledge and wisdom once more and contrive a method of bridging this bridgeless river." I love that line.), but sometimes he just speaks more like an adult raised in proper society...which he's really, really not. Other than that-I look forward to seeing what happens to Link in Gerudo Valley! (One of my favourite parts of the game, because the potential for comedy is great. :D)
