Reviews for The Cerberus Files : Tactical Addenda, Opposing Forces |

![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely love your Mass effect universe, but it makes me want to just cry at the low chance of survival that Humanity actually has. |
![]() ![]() ![]() A wonderful insight into the Batarians—a species who take "might makes right" and "survival of the fittest" to their logical conclusion. Yet, it is ironic that their Darwinist principles are contradicted by the irony of the circumstances. The Batarians are puppets of the "Dark Gods," who in reality are mere grunts of the Leviathan/Ascended and are not only mentally-damaged from fighting the Darkness—but also probably controlled by the Puppeteers, a servant race created by the Leviathans themselves, if I recall my recollection of the other Cerberus Files correctly. There is an irony in a species believing that "they" are the "strongest" among the "mortals" and the only one therefore who can serve the "strongest of them all" (the Dark Gods) when their "Dark Gods" are merely ultimately broken beings, however god-like, hiding away from the Reapers and the Darkness. If one revealed the truth to the Batarians—particularly their elite—would they fall into madness? While it is natural that someone from Cerberus can't probably give a proper rebuttal to the apocalyptic trans-species darwinism of the Batarians—it would be really interesting to see a proper rebuttal of the Batarians coming from some crazy idealist e.g. a Lythari, Uressa, etc. |
![]() ![]() ![]() also, while it didn't occurr to me until i reviewed the last chapter, if that batarian piece of shit wasn't willing to speak with anyone other than a Minsta there, why the hell did Galen allow his daughter to do it? what kind of father would willingly expose his child, let alone a female child, to a monster like that? and speaking of the attack on the Volus by this league of zero, i'm surprised the Volus didn't respond by putting extremely high bounties on every important salarian figure of note, with suitable cutouts to make it untraceable to them. that or do their best to absolutely ruin the Salarians economically. whether the League was acting with the assent of the Six and STG or not. they were still acting on behalf of the Salarian people, so they might as well hit them where it hurts. show that actions against them will have severe consequences for the salarians as a whole. |
![]() ![]() ![]() while i'm fairly sure i've at least skimmed this story before, i don't remember this chapter at all. also, "unrelenting force"? someone's been playing Skyrim. i also don't see your versions of Kai and Pel really indulging in sex slaves. not that i think that they're paragons of virtue or anything, but that's a bit too far. i mean, is your version of Kai even interested in sex at all at this point? |
![]() ![]() ![]() "I'm not a People person, but then, neither is Kai Leng". the difference is Kai Leng is more than capable of killing most of said people with his bare hands. and isn't just a stupid spoiled brat. seriously, given the attitude you've given her, how the hell is tiffany minsta still alive? |
![]() ![]() ![]() ...370 members of the deathwatch seems ludicrously small, given the turian population size and the fact that their society seems like a Prussian's wet dream. |
![]() ![]() ![]() deberias actualizar este ya estas a solo unos pasos de terminarlo y con la guerra inminente necesitamos informacion del circo de p. y las redes de aria. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "..., may they burn in a hell comprised of dioxygen diflouride for all eternity, ..." FOOF! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Like reading your work so far, having read the entire first story arc, but I felt I needed to respond here as I am confused by the Acquisition section. How can anything be disguised as an "electrical failure" when basically everything the Asari use is Optronic in nature? I thought Optronics were Photon Gate circuitry? Or should I be thinking more along the lines of Star Trek and their EPS/Electro-Plasma Conduits? I think a mechanical or structural failure (sabotage?) would be more likely in any event... Gravitational and Spatial stresses from biotics usage could explain all manner of structural failures and mechanical failures due to faulty hydraulics or so on. Unless "electrical failure" was meant to be more along the lines of "computer error" or "optronic damage" in which case that sounds plausible as a means of accidental death, but are the Nightwind coherent enough to engage in subtle sabotage of complex systems? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bossman, this is wonderful, and fantastic, and crude. thanks. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very interesting. I like how you took a one off comment made in the first game and turned it into something tangible and that we could understand. As for the League itself, it is indeed the most dangerous Non-Intergalactic/Dimensional thing yet seen. You know, the more I read about this setting, the more I realize how close everyone is to wiping each other out already. The Reapers might not have had anything left to harvest if they'd waited a couple more centuries. Anyway, good job! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Interesting, with a Metal Gear Salarian feel to it. That being said, you're starting to have a LOT of occult organizations to juggle with, there, LP. It's engrossing, but it's going to be a challenge to deal with. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "Having the realization that the salarians and asari have probably left them to their devices to be a check and a drain on humans, elcor and volus would not go down well with her sheltered upbringing." Well I guess that answers my question :p The League of Zero does seem like one of the biggest threats described so far. Especially if they use Zha'til or Prothean technology to perceive higher dimensions. Or maybe they already have, I wonder where the wheel priests get their knowledge from. |
![]() ![]() ![]() LoZ AI: Oh look, Cerberus! Let's hack them! (slap in the wrist) Vigil: boi |
![]() ![]() ![]() If the SIU is the worst and vilest BLack Ops unit, then the LoZ is the most dangerous one. They have Zha's nanotech and can be described as the salarian Cerberus or the salarian Hades Group. And I'm curious: how did the asari manage to hack the salarian data-net? |
