Tim chapter 15 . 7/21 Damn Smoker really bit the dust, kinda a shame since he was one of the few good Marines but oh well, at least his death serves a purpose in leading Tashigi and Hina likely away from the Marines and it also highlights just how sickeningly corrupt the so-called "Followers of Justice" are. The way the whole fic has been going has me really pumped about how Marineford is gonna go down, especially with how so many small but key differences there are, some Vice-Admirals are dead, Shanks has both hands and the Straw Hats are significantly stronger this time around so while i doubt Whitebeard will survive since his death is such a key moment in the series maybe Ace will have a better chance at not getting donuted this time around what with Luffy being so much stronger than canon so hopefully he can kick around or at least survive against Akainu without Ace needing to get a hole blown into his chest. |
TeraelinII chapter 16 . 7/19 luffy's i told you so made me almost bust my gut laughing |
jdboss2 chapter 4 . 7/12 Navigator just a couple weeks of training cannot beat Don Krieg That is quite frankly ridiculous if she received a devil fruit And had some obvious over the top powers yes but other than that there is no way Don Krieg was incredibly physically strong and tough I personally thought he was stronger in strength and crocodile And more resistant to damage as as soon as Luffy got past crocodile sand Heath easily punched him and sent him flying when the same punchers didn't even affect Don Krieg |
jdboss2 chapter 3 . 7/9 I really do appreciate and like your work you put a lot of effort into describing each scene but your writing in English story in English for people who read English so do not use Japanese words for one arena Japanese story I will read it in Japanese a very small Percentage of fanfiction offers to this they think somehow clever to use the occasional Japanese word in English version of a story it is not is highly highly annoying irritating and painful those of us who do not understand or wish to understand Japanese to be honest I actually tried learning Japanese I spent a month over the 2015 my conclusion was to bloody difficult and sticking with English at all costs English English English do not include any Japanese words if in doubt remember English English and English If you wish to write a Japanese story happily go do it right it in the Japanese section of this website not in the English category |
diemfood chapter 16 . 7/7 Man, this fanfic is great! I think it's one of the best ones I've read so far and I really can't wait for new chapters! Still though, take your time and take care of yourself! |
DracoKing30 chapter 16 . 7/6 really love this story can't wait for new chapters |
Isom chapter 16 . 7/6 TO THE SKIES! The crew heads off into the skies in search of adventure. The addition of the new crew members winds up helping them realize the giant shadows, and how the city of the gold was raised into the skies via the knock up stream. Meanwhile, it is sad to see Hina and Tashigi reduced so low. Turned into criminals by the organization that they spent so long working for. I'm glad to see that they are starting to see that the world is not as black and white thanks to the Navy brainwashing. Bellamy winds up biting off a lot more than he could chew. The fact that Vivi was capable of bragging about being the second weakest from her crew, while beating down Bellamy is the ultimate flex! The updated bounties are sweet, and it was hilarious to see that Sanji was unable to avoid his first bounty poster. Speaking of Sanji, the change of Sanji getting a Devil Fruit is completely out of left field for me. Honestly, it does suit him. This form will no doubt grant him greater strength and speed. I wonder though, will this affect his superhuman abilities, the ones programmed into him by German 66, and surpassed by his mother? Also to consider, the more predatory a devil fruit is, the hard it is to control. Sanji mainly wanted to how off his power. I makes me wonder how he'll do when his adrenaline spikes, his heart pounding, and his anger rising, will that cause him to lose himself to his new predator mode? Would he attack the crew (moss head)? Speaking of which, looking at the pictures of a Utahraptor, I recommend the feathers sharpening, acting like blades on Sanji's arms, tail, and head. Finally, we have the long awaited interaction with the Marshall D. Teach. Given his relevance in the plot of the canon story, I sincerely doubt that he and his crew are dead. While no doubt injured, I doubt he was killed. However, this is likely going to paint a target on Luffy's back, as Teach would likely want such destructive devil fruit with one of his crew mates in the future. |
Cha0sniper chapter 7 . 6/27 I am *very* much looking forward to your version of the iconic "Take me away/to sea with you" line from Robin when she's captured by CP9 in canon. Just the reminder of it at the end there made me tear up a bit. |
chrislgerlach chapter 6 . 6/23 Grammar wise, this story is very well written. At times though, it is tough to get through. Huge chunks of the chapters are backstories or basically scene by scene telling of the anime/manga. The author does a good job of expanding and adding new things, which is nice and hopefully will continue going forward. I think the crew learning the Six Powers so quickly is a bit of a stretch but I’m willing to suspend my disbelief for something as little as that. Plus the author makes a good point of Koby learning them in less than six months while also changing his entire body shape. The crew is in better shape so it should theoretically take less time. Plus a strong crew is a good crew. Besides the story dragging on at times with canon rehash, my other personal grievance with this story is the use of Japanese for attack names. I’ve never personally understood why an author would choose to write an entire story in English but have the attacks in a different language. For me personally, knowing the name of the attack helps me picture what the fight looks like but I can’t do that with Japanese as I don’t read nor speak it. I know that the attack names tend to be at the end of the chapters but that really doesn’t help while reading them. Even if you use the defense of “I watch sub not dub, it’s what I’m familiar with”, aren’t the moves still translated to English the majority of the time in the subtitles? It comes across as being extra weeby for the sake of being extra weeby. Maybe someone would be able to explain to me the logic so I could better understand? |
Leaf Ranger chapter 16 . 6/23 Quite an awesome chapter, very awesome indeed. Sanji has his own power now, and we'll see how he uses it. And Hina and Tashigi are part of the crew, which is awesome. We'll see where things go, but I do imagine that if a crazy enough party goes down...the crew might awaken to hear Tashigi trying to kill Zoro after they wake up in a compromising position. XD Great work, keep it up! |
Random-Fan-2017 chapter 9 . 6/18 For saying this chapter was difficult and that Chopper isn't your favorite Straw Hat, I really respect how you handled his introduction and his acceptance into the crew. And the scene when he accidentally killed Wapol was done excellently, as Luffy empathizing with Chopper was a great way to help Chopper grow past this incident and show him that he is not a monster because he made one mistake. I just hope it doesn't crush him (After all, if the roles were reversed, I know that Wapol wouldn't think twice - if at all - about killing someone as kind and talented as Chopper, so he doesn't deserve to feel bad about killing someone that he actively tried to spare twice, even when they didn't deserve it). Robin also got a crash course in the crew's respect and care for others, and the illness she got… not gonna lie, it sounded like a Resident Evil virus with how brutal its effects were. That is some mutant zombie nonsense right there! Though this was well balanced with Vivi's empathy and compassionate nature towards good people, which broke through Robin's emotional walls and gave her something she'd been lacking for decades: unconditional love. She and Vivi also learned that Luffy has an extremely dangerous Logia DF power that basically makes him immune to most if not all weather conditions. Its actually funny that some of his crew mates didn't even know he has one because of how rarely he uses it. Then the fight between Zoro and Mr. 3. The way Mr. 3 went after what he thought was a somewhat easy target, before losing his cool and thinking that Zoro was intentionally messing with him, only to find out that he had no idea what was going on was hilarious. And it only got better when Zoro practically used Mr. 3 for training (not to mention how Miss Goldenweek's power didn't work on him the way it was meant to), and even managed to learn the technique for cutting steel before ever meeting Mr. 1. |
Random-Fan-2017 chapter 8 . 6/17 Once again, Luffy is practically weaponizing his crew-mates by teaching them the enemies' secret fighting techniques, and no one can stop him unless they beat/capture his whole crew right now, but they can't gauge exactly how strong they are yet. And I feel accurate in saying this because teaching Nico Robin both Finger Pistol and Iron Body with her DF powers is very unfair. The only ones who can really defend against that broken combo are people with Future Sight Observation Haki, Logia DF powers, certain Paramecia fruits, or strong Armament Haki. Everyone else is going to get destroyed. Though Robin was able to become the second person on Luffy's crew who actually managed to hit him, even if it didn't stop him. Valentine and Usopp are a great comedic duo, and even when they met the giants, there was just the right amount of fun and seriousness to make the scene a great one (also its ironic that Valentine ended up on Little Garden this time, just in a much better situation for herself). Vivi was helpful to Dorry and Brogy by getting them to clearly remember why they've been fighting for 100 years, and Mr. 3 made the wise decision of not getting 2 furious giants and a band of dangerous pirates to attack him by being more indirect in his methods, even if Robin foiled him. But then the worst happens when Vivi, not Nami, falls ill by the tick bite on Little Garden. I love this from a storytelling perspective because while Nami falling ill is terrible for the Straw Hats, its catastrophic for Alabasta since they need Vivi alive to successfully thwart Crocodile, and their princess dying will all but guarantee the country's destruction. (Also, sorry for sending the same past review (Ch 7) twice. I noticed it hadn't appeared 4 days after I sent it and thought it just didn't send at all) |
Random-Fan-2017 chapter 7 . 6/10 The Straw Hats arriving at Whiskey Peak is very different when they are significantly stronger than normal pirates, and Luffy seems even more ruthless here, now having a kill count of 5 by adding 3 more bodies after just entering the Grand Line, and then adding 3 new crew members to balance it out. He even seems much more aggressive in his approach to recruiting people he either finds interesting or has a skill/personality trait that he likes. He literally just entered the most dangerous sea in the world and immediately gunned for getting an actual princess, and then 2 members of a criminal syndicate to join his crew. That is an aggressive recruitment strategy of enemy forces that I can respect! The guy used his own life experiences to read through "Miss All Sunday's" mask of calm so clearly that he convinced her to join him, even promising her something that he doesn't see as a big deal but is really a huge deal, just because he liked that she was an odd person he could understand and has a very useful power. Crocodile is definitely going to notice the loss of both the Unluckies, the Mr. 5 pair, and his own partner in crime, all in one day. He'll probably view Luffy as either the most violent, ruthless and ambitious pirate to come out of the East Blue, or an incomprehensible lunatic with the devil's luck. Either way, the Straw Hat Pirates will quickly become a headache for everything he's trying to do in Alabasta, and if his current losses are any indication, then he doesn't even have the disposable manpower to stop these nutcases. Miss Valentine is joining the crew, and I'm actually happy to see this happen, since it seemed like a shame that she was little more than a one-note villain with little to no development in the Alabasta Arc, and I wish there was more to her than what I saw. I was hoping that Gin from the Don Krieg Pirates would have joined in the East Blue, but the reasons that didn't happen were stated in the 4th chapter, so I cannot and will not complain about that. I also find it funny that in the whole series so far, the only person who has hit Luffy and actually hurt him...is Nami. The 18-year-old former pirate thief is the only character throughout the whole East Blue Arc that was able to hit him hard enough for him to feel pain, and then made him look like the biggest baddass around by beating Don Krieg, "The Strongest Man in the East Blue," in single combat. Luffy even gets instantly angry whenever someone mentions the Celestial Dragons, which makes sense when you know what happened to Sabo, and who knows what else happened to Luffy and Ace in their past. And with how insanely strong Luffy is, if he ever meets a Celestial Dragon, I'm pretty sure he'll hit them so hard it'll kill them. |
DeadKing24712 chapter 16 . 6/11 Way to prank Sanhi bruh HAHAHA |
