The only thing more dangerous than an army of basilisks is a large group of adult mandrakes with a Sonorous Charm on them. You could probably kill (use instead immature mandrakes as a nonlethal option) the entirety of Hogwarts' staff, students, pets, elves, & forest-occupants no matter where they might be in the castle or surrounding lands, let alone the occupants of any manor, building, or village you might attack, with only those deaf or happened to be wearing soundproofed headphones/earmuffs suffering no effects.

You present a unique method of winning the war at low risk to Harry. I believe that this is one of the few that I've read where there is a plausible method for Harry to almost singlehandedly win the war without making him a grossly overpowered super wizard.
On top of that, the writing flows well. It isn't marred by poor spelling or, misuse of homonyms.

Do not think i have read anything simular.

Hopefully harry will finally get his quiet year at hogwarts.
Though i suspect a certain old man will try and badger how he defeated tom out of harry.

No snape or junior DE's.
Maybe the remaining snakes can bring some honour and genuine cunning back to their house

Though i wonder what harry will do with his secret pets.
Maybe with his new fortune, he could buy a nice worm island with sufficient large game for them to like happily on.

I think this is an interesting theory that could very well have been achieved. However, the story of Harry Potter would then have ended a few years earlier, which means that the way the books/films ended might have been completely different. Harry and Ginny may not have ended up married, as well as Ron and Hermione.
I have read many, many stories, and one-shots, each with different ideas, theories, pairings and endings. This is one of the ones I have most enjoyed reading.

Excellent story. I particularly liked the way you managed to make Harry a fairly angry chap at various points in the tale, without ever having his responses seem cringeworthy. Good job!
