Thank you for this chapter and continuing with this story. I felt Chuck's reaction to the situation was realistic. Neither too accepting or too angry. I hate to see our two favourite characters at loggerheads but with the promise of a happy ending I will gladly continue to read your very well written words.

Well worth the wait! The angst was just the right amount and not overdone or forced. The reveal was well done as well. If I may offer one suggestion - please, PLEASE have Chuck man up and give it to Bryce good, verbally or physically, at some point. The dude is just such a prick in this story. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks!

A really enjoyable chapter thank you, with so much in it. I'm glad they were honest-ish with Chuck. I'm also interested in Casey's role. Is he really retired military who just happens to have noticed the looped video etc., or is he also there to nail Roark?

Damn that was an impressive chapter. Can totally understand chucks reaction to finding out he was being used. Bryce is being his normal self, an arrogant tool. Nice little speech by casey though to get chuck to help. Look forward to more.

I enjoy how the roles are slightly reversed here as Chuck seems more confident and Sarah more vulnerable based on their mutual feelings. I think that was absolutely the case on the show, Sarah made Chuck more confident and Chuck made Sarah more human.

So while you have an AU here you are still representing the characters we love so much.

Also, love all the beach and ocean stuff. I am a big ocean fan so having our characters on the beach is always fun!

As I've told you, I always read your chapters once you post them so I can just read them through, without looking for or thinking about corrections. So I can just enjoy the story. And as I did, Sarah's struggles really struck me as pretty intense. It's a bit of a boxing match between Sarah, the person, and Walker, the agent. Walker started off strong in this story, but in this chapter, Sarah is starting to land some serious body blows that are knocking Walker way of her game. Her strategy is going right out the window. However, I have a feeling that Walker still has some tricks up her sleeve. I think, as hurt as she was by Chuck's words, it made Walker wake back up again a little.

The next chapter is sure to be a doozy, with the mission having to progress and Sarah having no idea where things stand.. Ellie is still circling this battle and I'm sure she has something to say. Lastly, I know I've mentioned this, but I love the way Casey's character is developing so far. His commitment to look out for Chuck is going to be interesting to watch to see how it develops, because Chuck has no idea yet about Casey's support, not really.

I really like the tone of this chapter...Sarah being lulled in by her attraction for Chuck and the comfort of the situation before her agent side reasserts itself, Chuck so close to getting what he wants, only to run headfirst into a brick wall...very consistent with the "two steps forward, one step back" portrayal of their relationship that was used on the show (I think Ive said before, but I like angst in my stories...it creates drama, and I think you use it very well)

This chapter made me think Casey might just be what he appears, a gruff, former military guy who genuinely likes Chuck...him stonewalling Bryce was absolutely great

I am glad Chuck stood up for himself because I do think people sometimes forget that he can be pushed too far (i.e. "Vs the Crown Vic"), but poor Sarah...she really is doing her damnedest while caught in a no-win situation and this is the kind of thing that would make her withdraw into herself

..and yes, you and I are definitely on the same page about Sarah, especially the guilt she often carries around. Again, my personal canon, but I always felt like one of the reasons she was so protective of Chuck (along with that she genuinely liked him) was that for once her job and what she felt was the right thing to do were completely in sync with each other. She could actually be proud of this mission because Chuck was someone who deserved to be protected

Great chapter! Loved it. Most of the chapter had some nice Charah bonding and then you pulled the rug out from underneath us with some superbly crafted angst. Very interested to see what Sarah does to fix this. If she can.

I appreciate your response to my reviews and I will in fact now think of Bryce as Danielyce Shawkin. I can very much see a juxtaposing of those two characters. And of course that makes the stiffness I spoke of completely understandable. Any time you get the 2x4 know as Daniel Shaw involved - woodenness ensues.

Really liked this chapter. Very well written and the emotion from both Chuck and Sarah was intense and so easy to feel coming off the page. Really liked this version of Chuck as it fit with the positive change that SHE made in him back 6 months ago.

I really am looking forward to this version of the rat bastard. A Bryce/Shaw combo means I will hate the guy even more. lol Seeing him get what he deserves will be a great read. Plus this way I don't have to deal with the phony canon story of "Bryce was a good guy trying to protect Chuck" that I never bought into. He wasn't protecting Chuck when he sent him the Intersect and in effect gave him a death sentence or life in prison. He was serving his own selfish needs. But I digress.

Here at least you have added an element of "plywood" to the mix without having his pathetic character directly involved. At the very least this combo eliminates any real PLI angst from this story. Can't wait for what's next.
