Finally I have time to read the chapter purely as a fan and review it.

So the boxing match. We are in the late rounds of this 15-round heavyweight bout between the seasoned champ, Walker, and the surprisingly cunning challenger, Sarah. But as the fight goes on the champ has slowly increased the gap between her and Sarah. Her lead is too great for Sarah to be able to win without a knock out, so she goes for it all. Throws everything she has at it. Ellie comes out and uses her words to knock the champ back, biting words that hurt her deeply...but then she also shows kindness and forgiveness. Walker might have been ready for one or the other from Ellie, but not both. She staggers.

Then another member of Sarah's corner, Chuck, hits her while she's still reeling. He asks her the question. And then, when she has set up her defensive strategy for Chuck to get angry and let her have it, again she is surprised by a smile and some kind words, breaking straight through his defenses. Walker has never been so close, in her entire career, to getting knocked out in a fight. She is staggering, barely standing. It's possible that one more blow from Sarah's corner could do it...

But Sarah is also exhausted and she just can't finish it off. Walker straightens herself up and makes it to the final bell. She has held on and won the fight. But her career and her willingness to keep fighting has taken a blow. Maybe it's time to hang the gloves up, go out on top. The allure of a simple life, without the worries about all the training needed for the boxing matches, and the inherent danger, is becoming hard to ignore.

And all of a sudden, Sarah is back, challenging her to a rematch. And she has to make a decision. Take the rematch, or retire and fade into the background.

And that, is my review.

I really liked the brief interaction between Sarah and Ellie, especially the idea that Ellies anger and hurt isnt exclusively on Chucks behalf. Its easy to forget that Ellies got a big heart as well, and would have accepted Sarah as part of the family very quickly. She would have felt almost as betrayed as Chuck did once the truth came out

Ultimately though, what I liked best about this chapter is the way it cuts to the very heart of what these two characters mean to each other. Until Sarah, only his family ever realized Chucks potential, but coming from her, it means so much more. Its why I think her confirming that it wasnt all lies is so important. Even a hurt Chuck thinks Sarah is amazing, and if someone like her really believes in him, hes going to live up to that.
At the same time Chuck sees something in Sarah that even she cant see. Sarah has always tied her worth to what she can do, not who she is. So when someone like Chuck finds value in her as a person she begins to respond to that, its why someone like Cole dosnt appeal to her and why the spy world loses its luster...shes starting to realize shes worth so much more than what she thought

im not going to lie, but i straight up cackled when hannah mckay rolled up into the story. but who is it?! it cant be sarah because shes chilling with carina and wanting to retire...you have me confused, and i cant wait to see what it leads too. cant wait for the next update, hope its quick :)

I hear you with the angst but you have me worried with the presence of Hannah. I'm also curious as to the name of Chuck's company. Thanks for writing.

Glad the angst is winging down, but you kind of left us hanging with what happened between Chuck and Hannah. What will Sarah do when she returns to Burbank and find out that Chuck didn't pine away for her like she has for him. I mean it looks like she's giving up the CIA to be with him. This could crush her. That could be interesting, Sarah having an emotional breakdown in front of Ellie and then Ellie comforting her.

On a side note, that was the one aspect of the show I really disliked. Chuck is always presented as a loyal guy but when it came to Sarah he seemed to move on too quickly for my taste. I know, Sarah kept pushing him away but it never sat right with me that he'd pick up with literally the first woman that showed the littlest interest in him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing your story, in fact it falls right in lone with the Chuck from the show. I just don't think someone who went into a five year funk after Jill would get over Sarah that quickly and if he did what does that say?

A really super chapter. Sarah has finally made a life-changing decision. But I hope Chuck will still be there for her. After all, there's his success and, possibly, Hannah. Let us know soon, please.

Glad that this is supposedly the last chapter with all that angst. It was getting really annoying to read Sarah constantly keeping quiet when her situation could have been made a bit better with only a few words.

Hopefully we see some form of happiness for the characters. Sarah needs to do something big for Chuck to trust her. Who cares about getting ellie to trust/believe in her again. Her character has always been annoying. I hope we get to see how Sarah makes it up to Chuck and how he reacts to seeing her again. Hope you don't have the whole Hannah thing be too serious.

I hope you don't screw Hannah over as bad as she got screwed on the show (even if she was a stalker). As much as we want the main couple to be together, it always annoys me when perfectly good people get burned. This actually happens all the time on TV.

The story's going really well. In particular, I think the pacing is very good. Keep writing!

I got to feeling all nostalgic about Chuck today. I admit I only watched the first three seasons but I really dug them. Anyway, this is a nice read. Thanks.

Excellent chapter. It's a shame it took nearly dying for Sarah to get the courage to go back to chuck. Glad chucks doing well for himself though, he deserves it after everything that's happened. Will he be with Hannah? Or will he be glad that Sarah's back? Should be interesting finding out where you go with that.
