Reviews for The Definition of Normal |

![]() ![]() ![]() Haha that's an interesting take on him living in the cupboard. Most stories have it that he's forced to live in there. Nicely done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() seems interesting. wonder how dumbledore will react. onto the next story |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love your story concept. I don't think I've ever really read one where Harry tried to be like his relatives. Or, if I did, only 1 or 2, ever, and I've read a LOT of HP stories! I apologize that I can't leave a review on every chapter. I'm still in a lot of pain from dislocating my right shoulder last week. Typing, and just about everything else, is difficult. But I'm really enjoying this. And I'm so glad I happened across your initial post last night and that you told me your pen name so I could find you here. I needed a good distraction from last night (and ongoing) and the stories I love but already know the ending of just couldn't hold my attention. I have continued on to part 2 already, but now that I'm signed in, wanted to be sure I left you a review on part 1. Thank you for introducing me to your writing. I'm going to recommend this series to my FF group on Facebook after I read all of it. Then I'll check out your other non-crossover HP stories. (I just don't know the other fandoms enough to read the crossovers.) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I feel bad for all the machinations Harry had to go through to survive. I want to smack Vernon and Pet and their pig. I hope Dumpy fainted when he got the news. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Parkinson huh? I guess this means that Lily is actually a halfblood which probably makes Harry a pureblood - with only ONE muggle grandparent - if Lily's mum was a witch or a squib! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is a well written story. I'm enjoying it looking forward to the sequel. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Not much of a cliffhanger anymore, is it? Otherwise I'd probably call you evil! I've wondered about that. Hagrid can obviously cook, and he baked Harry a cake. Perhaps he only makes rock cakes so hard because he misunderstood the name? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Damn, I can't wait till Hogwarts just so I don't have to think "poor Harry" every chapter. Nice re-imagining, though. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, Dursleys, you explain those things to the teachers. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think I'm going to like this series just for the little details. Having Harry prefer the cupboard because of the magic Narnia is rather telling. Some fics have him do so as a baby for no reason at all. Though, if his room has a wardrobe, why didn't he try it with that? It's also always an interesting dynamic with these kind of stories. Where a young Harry makes some decision or mistake that any child might make(especially one who has spent a year in a magical household), and the Durselys, being inexperienced parents themselves, blame it on his previous culture. Only a freakish child would want to stay in a cupboard, right? It's interesting because sometimes it's very plausible without too much suspension of disbelief. It's easy to make the Weasleys bad, and almost as easy to make the Dursleys "normal." |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's odd to see Harry's manipulations happening at a reasonable rate. I suppose people do seem to have short attentions spans for character and detail development. lol, Harry learns a lesson in paying attention to all the factors in a situation, not just the major ones. |
![]() ![]() xxx KUDOS xxx : ) |
![]() ![]() ill admit, im getting bored, a story full of stupid people does that to me |
![]() ![]() ![]() Fantastic! Loved Petunia's side, too. And anything that foils Dumbledore's plans. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I thought his magic made him have allergy for that time. |
